Rear window wiper (Audi 100 C4)

The rear window wiper is switched on when you press the wiper lever towards the dashboard. At the same time, the windshield washer pump is switched on and after a certain time, water flows out of the nozzle. A short press on the switch switches on the intermittent mode. To switch it off, press the switch again. Terminal 53 powers the windshield wiper motor, the current from terminal 53a returns the brushes to their original position.

Removal the rear window wiper motor

Remove the windshield wiper arm.

Unscrew the nut on the windshield wiper shaft and remove it together with the insert and sealing gasket. Set the parts aside in the order of removal.

Remove the rear door trim.

Pull the windshield washer hose off the windshield wiper motor.

Unscrew the rear window wiper motor holder and remove it together with the motor.

Disconnect the multi-pin plug.

Remove the engine from the holder.

When installing a new motor, allow it to settle into its original position in the manner described for the front wiper motor.

Attach the windshield wiper arm:

The wiper blade should be 40 mm from the lower edge of the rear window when at rest.
