Main technical characteristics of the engine (Audi 100 C3)

The four-stroke, four-cylinder in-line engine is installed inclined to the right along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The cooling system is liquid. The engine uses a valve timing mechanism with an overhead camshaft, the drive of which is carried out by a toothed belt.

Note: 1987 model year vehicles were equipped only with the "08" model engines, which were replaced by the "NP" model engines, which are a modification, in 1988.
