The interior rearview mirror is glued directly to the windshield using a special adhesive (for example, Loctite), or a sticky tablet.
Gluing the rear view mirror with glue
Warning: The adhesive used to glue the rear view mirror is toxic, so follow the manufacturer's instructions. The mirror must be glued at a temperature of at least 20°C.
Make sure that the inside surface of the windshield where the mirror is installed is completely dry.
Degrease the place where the mirror is installed with denatured alcohol.
Allow the surface to dry.
Apply two drops of glue to the mating surface of the mirror base.
Making sure the mirror is oriented correctly, press it firmly against the glass and hold it in this position for 1 minute.
If the mirror has come off:
- thoroughly clean the surface of the windshield where the mirror is glued from any remaining glue (for example, with a safety razor blade);
- repeat the mirror gluing operation in the above order.
Gluing the rear view mirror with adhesive tablet
Degrease the place where the rearview mirror is glued to the glass and the mating surface of the mirror base with denatured alcohol.
Allow the surfaces to dry.
Remove the protective film from one side of the tablet and press the tablet to the base of the rearview mirror
Remove the protective film from the second side of the tablet.
Making sure the mirror is oriented correctly, press it firmly against the glass and hold it in this position for 1 minute.
