Elimination of scratches on the body
If the scratch is shallow and does not reach the metal of the body, the repair is very simple. Lightly rub the scratched area with Turtle Wax New Color Back, or a paste like Holts Body+ Plus Rubbing Compound.
With a brush, apply the car paint to the scratch until the surface of the paint in the scratch is even with the surrounding paint. Let the new paint harden for at least two weeks: then buff the area with a paste such as Holts Body+ Plus Rubbing Compound or Turtle Wax New Color Back.
If the scratch has reached the metal of the body, another technique is required. Remove rust with a penknife, then treat with a neutralizer such as Turtle Wax Rust Master to prevent future rust formation. Using a rubber or nylon applicator, fill the scratch with Holts Body-i-Plus Knifing Putty. Now the scratch can be painted as described earlier.
