34. Remove the key - after this it should not be possible to move the lever from the "P" position even with the brake pedal depressed and the lock release button pressed.
35. If the above checks are not performed, check the access control switch.
Checking the selector mechanism
36. In all lever positions except "P" and "N", the starter must not be engaged.
37. In the "N" mode, at a speed of more than 5 km/h, the electromagnetic selector lever locking valve should not lock the lever, and it should be possible to move the lever back to the drive position.
38. At speeds below 2 km/h, the selector lever locking solenoid valve must lock the lever only 1 second after the "N" mode is engaged, and it must not be possible to move the lever back to the drive position until the brake pedal is depressed.
39. When the selector lever is in the "N" or "P" position, the ignition is on and the brake pedal is released, the selector lever must be locked and must not be moved out of the "N" or "P" position with the lock button pressed (the solenoid valve must lock the lever).
Note: Blocking in "N" does not work immediately.
When the brake pedal is depressed, the solenoid valve should release the lock - slowly move the lever from "P" to "S", while monitoring the correctness of the indicator readings in the instrument cluster.
40. When moving the lever to the manual mode position, instead of the "D" illumination on the selector lever cover, the illumination of the "+" and "-" positions should light up, and instead of "PRNDS", the indication should appear in the instrument cluster "(87)654321". The lever must only be allowed to be moved from "D" to manual mode when the lock button is pressed.
