The following description is given using a 6-speed automatic transmission as an example.

2. Remove the rear sound insulation panel under the engine compartment (see Section 19 of Chapter 1).

3. Unscrew the drain plug (1 in the illustration) and drain the ATF.

7.3. Drain plug (1) and bolts (arrows) for fastening the AT pan (2).

7.3. Drain plug (1) and bolts (arrows) for fastening the AT pan (2).

Unscrew the bolts (arrows) securing the pan in a diagonal order and remove the pan. If necessary, remove other parts as described below.

4. Remove the bolts (see illustration) and remove the oil pick-up.

7.4. Bolts (A and B) for fastening the oil intake.

12. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following features.

13. Before installing the oil pickup, lubricate its new sealing ring with ATF and slide it onto the oil pickup neck. Position the oil pickup on the electro-hydraulic block and, without pressing, screw in the bolts (And in illustration 7.4) three turns and bolt (B) five turns. Center the oil pickup until it feels properly seated, press it in at the corners (arrows), and tighten the bolts completely.

14. When installing the oil pan, use its new gasket. Before installing the gasket, make sure that the centering bushings are installed in it.
