ATF drain, filler and inspection hole threaded plugs
1. ATF drain plug: 45 Nm.
2. Seal: ATF drain plug thread; replace.
3. Oil filler and inspection plug (MTF): in the manual transmission, front final drive and transfer case.
4. Threaded plug for filling and inspection hole for ATF6 oil 45 Nm.
5. Oil drain plug (MTF): Depending on the design, the oil drain plug (MTF) is designed as an oil temperature sensor 2 "G754".
Draining and filling ATF
The engine is off. Place the car on a lift or in a pit so that it stands horizontally. The selector lever is in the "P" position. To engage the electromechanical parking brake, pull the parking brake button. Remove rear noise insulation "2".

Place a device for filling and pumping out oil under the gearbox. Unscrew the threaded plug of the ATF oil drain hole "arrow A" and drain the ATF oil. Do not start the engine if there is no ATF oil in the gearbox. Replace the seal. aTF drain plug ring. Tighten the ATF drain plug thread.

Depending on the design and engine, there are two different ATF filter designs: the straight-through ATF "5" filter and the replaceable ATF "10" filter.

On gearboxes with replaceable ATF filter "2": When changing the ATF oil, always replace the replaceable ATF filter "2".

Fill the transmission with ATF. For the 0B5 dual-clutch transmission, only genuine ATF supplied as a spare part can be used. Fill the ATF filling device "VAG 1924" reservoir with ATF oil for dual-clutch transmissions 0B5. Secure the ATF filling system "VAG1924" reservoir as high as possible in the vehicle.
Do not start the engine if, after repairs or in case of a large loss of ATF oil, its level in the automatic transmission is insufficient, or there is no ATF oil. Unscrew the ATF inspection bolt "arrow". Insert the tube of the ATF oil filling device "VAG 1924" into the ATF inspection hole. Add ATF oil using the ATF oil filling device "VAG1924" until it flows out of the inspection hole. Move the selector lever to position "P".

Start the engine and after 20 seconds turn it off again. Add ATF oil again using the ATF oil filling device "VAG 1924" until it flows out of the inspection hole. Start the engine and let it run at idle. continue to add ATF oil using the ATF filling device "VAG 1924" until it flows out of the inspection hole again. Check and adjust the ATF level. Install sound insulation.
