
2. Measure the installation depth of the plug.
3. Drill one or two small holes in the plug, use self-tapping screws and a couple of claws to pull the plug out. If the plug is rusted, drill a larger hole and pry it out.
4. Clean the bearing surface in the cylinder block, then apply insulator around the hole. Use an insulator suitable for cooling system components.
5. Using a large socket or piece of metal tubing, drive the new plug into the block to the previously marked depth.
6. Fill the cooling system as described in Chapter 5.
