Removal glow plugs (Audi Q5-8R)

Turn off ignition. Remove engine cover. Clean glow plug well in cylinder head (dirt should not get into the cylinder). Examples of cleaning: Remove coarse dirt with a vacuum cleaner. Spray brake cleaner or some other similar product into the glow plug well. Wait a little while for it to take effect and remove it along with the dissolved dirt with compressed air. Clean the glow plug well completely by wiping it with a rag soaked in oil.



When disconnecting the glow plug connectors, do not damage the electrical connections, otherwise the entire wiring harness will have to be replaced. When removing the glow plug connectors, do not squeeze the pliers "3314" with great force, otherwise the support sleeve may be damaged. Install the pliers "3314" with the groove "arrow A" on the flange of the support sleeve "arrow B" and disconnect the connector from the glow plug. Glow plug 1 "Q10--5". Glow plug 2 "Q11" "6". Glow plug 3 "012" "7". Glow plug 4 "013--8".



To unscrew the glow plugs, use a 10 mm "3220" articulated wrench.

Installation

To tighten the glow plugs, use the 10 mm "3220" swivel wrench in combination with a suitable torque wrench. Tighten the glow plugs to the correct torque.

Tightening torque: 17 Nm. Put the connectors on the corresponding spark plugs, check the reliability of their fastening. Install the engine casing.
