However, if you still have to change the cylinder head gasket, then the following rules must be followed:
Rules for replacing the cylinder head gasket
It is necessary to turn out and screw in screws of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders in the specified sequence.
When removing the cylinder head, be sure to follow the screw removal sequence: screw No. 1 is removed first, screw No. 10 is the last
A new cylinder head gasket is removed from the packaging immediately before installation. The gasket must be handled with extreme care so as not to damage it.
Cylinders must be plugged with clean rags so that dirt and abrasive substances do not get into the gap between the working surface of the cylinder and the piston. Such particles must also not get into the coolant.
Mounting screw holes must be free of oil and coolant (wrap the screwdriver with a piece of cloth and insert it into the holes).
Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head and cylinder block. Do not scratch surfaces! If sanding paper is used, then the grit should be at least 100.
The head must be centered, special centering pins are provided for this (arrows).
When installing the gasket, pay attention to the centering pins (arrows)
The new gasket should have the same designation as the old one. Depending on the protrusion of the pistons, gaskets of various thicknesses are installed, so be sure to pay attention to the designation of the gasket.
The new cylinder head gasket is placed on the dowel pins so that the inscription can be read from the intake side. After that, install the cylinder head, insert and screw in the screws by hand. After that, the screws are tightened in the specified sequence (starting with screw #1 and ending with screw #10) in two stages. In the first step, the screws are tightened with a torque wrench to 40 Nm, in the second they are tightened by another 180° (half turn) non-adjustable wrench.
If the cylinder head is replaced, then all the coolant must also be changed.
When tightening the cylinder head screws, the tightening sequence must be observed from the 1st to the 10th screw
