1. Remove the air filter where necessary (Section 3).
2. Remove the cover from the selector hanger, then remove the snap ring, washer and pivot pin ring.
3. Remove the special clamps, separate the cable and stopper.
4. Remove the brackets, disconnect the ends of the cable housing from the selector suspension.
5. Remove the sector, spring and washer.
6. Unfasten the accelerator cable from the sector, disconnect the cable casing.
7. Remove the lower sector.
8. Inside the vehicle, disconnect the downshift cable from the accelerator pedal, then the cable housing from the bulkhead.

9. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the carburetor or throttle body and unfasten the cable cover.
10. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on axle stands.
11. Remove the retaining ring, disconnect the downshift cable from the lever on the transmission. Release the cable housing from the suspension.
12. Remove both cables from the engine compartment.
13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Adjust the cables as follows.
Adjustment
14. The accelerator cable on fuel-injected models does not require any adjustment. However, on carbureted models, the position of the cable housing in the carburettor must be adjusted so that there is no play on the inner cable with the throttle valve on the limiter. Install the special bracket in the groove in the rim closest to the suspension.
15. Before adjusting the lowering cable, loosen the two lock nuts in the selector suspension.
16. Position the transmission gearshift lever 2mm from the limiter using a steel ruler. Lock the lever in this position.

17. Move the cable housing in the selector hanger to eliminate any play, then tighten the two nuts.
18. Place 90mm spacers under the accelerator pedal, then spread the bezel in the selector hanger to eliminate any play. Install the special bracket in the groove.

19. Check the adjustment by removing the spacer and allowing the throttle lever to touch the stopper. Make sure the transmission lever is 2 mm from the stopper. Press the accelerator pedal to the wide open throttle position (no kickdown) and check that the throttle is fully open. Now fully depress the pedal and check that the transmission lever is on the downshift stop with the spring under tension.
20. On models equipped with a speed control system, disconnect the clutch rod and, after adjusting the downshift cable, reconnect the clutch rod without tensioning it.
21. On models with air conditioning, the air conditioner switch should not operate at full throttle, and should operate in the down position.
