Regulator — removal and installation (Audi 80 B3)

1. The regulator assembly is located on the left side of the final drive housing.

2. Unscrew the two bolts, remove the cover. Remove the seal.

3. Remove the regulator from the casing.

4. If necessary, replace the seal in the casing.

5. When replacing the regulator, check the identification mark on the head and prepare an identical unit.

6. Clean all parts, then lubricate them with transmission fluid before assembly.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, replace the cover seal and tighten the cover bolts evenly.
