1. The gearbox can be separated from the main gear shell, the regulator can also be removed, but disassembly of the gearbox is not recommended, as this requires special tools and knowledge.
2. Place the gearbox on a bench, extend the torque converter.
3. Remove the four nuts and washers that secure the gearbox to the final drive housing, remove the gearbox. Remove the o-ring and gasket.
4. From the gearbox, you can remove and examine the turbine shaft and pump shaft. When examining the turbine shaft, check that the O-rings (pic. 7.7) are placed properly and that the circlip is correctly placed in the groove of the groove. Note that the circlip must always be installed when installing the turbine shaft, otherwise the needle bearing will be damaged.
5. The pump shaft and turbine shaft can be of different lengths, so it is important to have the old shaft for comparison when getting the new one.
6. When assembling, be sure to install the gasket to the front end of the gearbox. Use a new gasket and O-ring. Make sure the pump shaft is properly inserted (see chapter 4).
