Installation

To install the automatic transmission selector handle, the locking button must be pulled out as far as it will go and secured with the "arrow" cable tie or the mounting device supplied with the new handle. If the locking button was not secured due to an oversight, it must not be removed from the automatic transmission selector handle using a mechanical auxiliary tool. Place a compressed air gun against the handle from below and press out the locking button with compressed air. Place a new "arrow" clamp on the selector handle. Place the automatic transmission selector handle completely on the selector - the locking button faces the driver. In this case, the handle must enter the annular groove of the automatic transmission selector. Remove the cable tie or mounting device, while the locking button drive enters the vertical groove of the selector. If necessary, press the locking button into the selector handle. To check the operation of the button mechanism, move the selector to the "R" and "S" positions. If the selector cannot be moved to the specified positions, the handle must be removed again. Secure the automatic transmission selector handle "2" with the "arrow" clamp on the automatic transmission selector, for this use pliers for hose clamps "V.A.G 1275". Secure the automatic transmission selector cuff retainer frame "1" to the center console.
