Execution order
1. Set the selector to position "P".

2. Loosen bolt –2– at the front support –1– of the selector cable.
3. Set the selector –4– to the "P" position, pressing it against the rear stop. The parking lock should engage and the vehicle should not move when the parking brake is released.
Warning: Do not remove the locking clip.
4. Move the selector cable at bolt –2– so that it is not tensioned. In this position, tighten bolt –2– to 5 Nm.
5. Finally, check the adjustment as described below.
Checking the adjustment
6. Move the selector to the "P" position with the locking button in the handle pressed approximately 5 mm back and release. The selector should return to its original position by itself.
7. Move the selector to the "N" position with the locking button in the handle pressed approximately 5 mm forward and release. The selector should return to its original position by itself.
8. If the selector does not lock, repeat the adjustment.
9. Drive the car and check the selector operation. The engine should only start in the selector position "P" or "N".
10. Turn on the ignition. When the car is stationary, the selector should only be able to move out of the "P" or "N" position if the brake pedal is pressed at the same time.
Adjusting the shift lock cable
11. Set the selector to position "1".
12. Remove the steering column covers.
13. Turn the ignition key to the "Start" position and release it. Check the gap between the cable lever and the lock pin. It should be 0.7 mm.
14. To adjust, loosen the cable clamp nut and position the cable lever to achieve the desired clearance.

15. Tighten the clamp nut.
16. Tighten the switch housing bolts and install the steering column covers.
Adjusting the shift lock solenoid
17. Set the selector to position "N" or "P".
