Removal and installation the alternator drive belt, crankshaft pulley and accessory bracket (Audi A4 B7)

1. Removal and installation of the alternator drive belt and crankshaft pulley on the 1.8T engine is performed in the same way as on the 2.0 MPI engine (see Sections 7 and 8). To bring the radiator frame into the service position, refer to Section 30.

2. The following describes the removal and installation of the accessory bracket.

3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

4. Drain the coolant from the cooling system (see Chapter 3).

5. Set the radiator frame to the service position (see Section 30) and remove the alternator drive belt (see Section 7).

4. Remove the bolts (1 in illustration 7.1) and remove the alternator belt tensioner.

5. Remove the bolts (see illustration) and remove the intake manifold support.



6. Turn out the front (see illustration 5.27a) and rear (see illustration 5.27b) power steering pump mounting bolts. Remove the power steering pump and place it on the side member without disconnecting the power steering fluid lines.

7. Remove the upper coolant pipe and thermostat housing (see Chapter 3).

8. Follow the steps described in paragraphs 10-16 Section 9.
