Brake test stand
- Brake testing on each axle can be done on a standard, slowly rotating brake test bench (max. 6 km/h).
- In this case, the drive must be from a test bench.
- Do not engage gear and differential lock.
Power Test Stand
- Power testing on a traditional two-wheel roller stand is not possible.
- A four wheel power roller test stand must be used.
Wheels
- All four wheels must cover the same section of the track in 1 revolution (ideally also have the same profile depth).
- Wheel balancing on a car (dynamic balancing) only possible if all four wheels are raised.
- The drive must be carried out from the car engine (not from a balancing machine). Important: turn off the handbrake.
Winter tires
- Winter tires are also recommended for quattro vehicles. Not so much because of the ride quality, but because of the braking performance.
- Snow chains can be used where prescribed, also on quattro vehicles. Here, too, braking qualities are an argument
- Snow chains are only fitted to the front wheels on the quattro.
Towing
- If all four wheels roll on the ground when towing, no special instructions should be followed.
- If one of the axles cannot roll (after the crash), then the car must be loaded onto a tow truck.
- If there is no such tow truck, then Audi can be towed with a raised axle. Condition: no further than 50 km and no faster than 50 km/h. If this limit is exceeded, damage to the transmission system due to lack of lubrication is possible.
