Removal
Disconnect the hose on the windshield washer nozzle.

Remove the hinge cover "1".
Mark the installation position of the hood by circling the bolts "2" with a felt-tip pen.
Support the hood.
Remove the gas-filled spring strut from the hood. To do this, remove the locking bracket and remove the mounting pin, knock it out with a punch if necessary.
Unscrew bolts "2" and remove the hood.

Caution: When replacing a gas-filled strut, the gas must be removed from the old one before it is thrown into the trash. To do this, press the strut rod to a distance of x = 50 mm. It is imperative to maintain this distance, otherwise there is a risk of an accident! Then make a cut in the cylinder in its first third, counting from the bearing edge on the piston rod. To collect splashing oil, place a rag in the area of the cut. Put on safety glasses.
Installation
Place the engine compartment hood, screw in the bolts, align the hood and tighten the bolts.
Insert the gas-filled stop with the cap, insert the pin and install the lock washer.
Insert the hinge cover.

Loosen bolts "2" and move the hood in the longitudinal direction until the front part is flush with the fenders.
Tighten bolt "2" to 20 Nm.
Loosen bolt "3" and align the hood with the fenders in height.
Tighten the bolt to 15 Nm.
Screw two rubber hood stops into the trim on the left and right.
Loosen the castle pin nut while holding the pin from turning.

Turn the lock pin so that the dimension "a" is 9+2 mm, namely between the hood "2" and the headlight "1".
Then tighten the crown nut to 10 Nm, while holding the journal from turning.

When turning, install the rubber stop "1" of the hood "2" flush with the wings.
