Engine removal - vehicles with dual-clutch transmission 0B5
The engine with gearbox and subframe is removed downwards with the radiator frame installed. When reassembling, install all binders in the places where they were originally installed. Before depressurizing the system. injection, it is necessary to release the fuel pressure to the residual pressure. Relieve fuel pressure in the high pressure sector. Set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position. In order to turn the cardan shaft for its removal, it is necessary to disconnect the electrics. apply the mechanical parking brake before disconnecting the battery terminals. Follow the instructions when disconnecting the battery terminals. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch. Disconnect ground wire "2" from the battery terminal. Drain the refrigerant from the circuit.

A/m with hydraulics. power steering: Using a device for pumping and collecting oil, pump out the hydraulic oil from reservoir "3". Ignore "Pos. 1, 2, 4".

Remove engine casing parts "1" and "2" upwards.

Open the expansion lid. tank.

Remove the front wheels on the left and right. Remove the front right and left fender liner. Remove noise insulation screens "1" and "2".

Place a service tray under the engine. Unscrew drain plug "1" and drain the coolant. Then remove the coolant hose from the radiator by loosening retaining clip "2.".

Remove the coolant hose from the engine oil cooler by loosening the hose clamp "arrow" and drain the coolant. For clarity, the parts in the following illustrations are shown with the engine removed.

Loosen clamps "1" and "3", disconnect the hoses from the system pipes. cooling system in the front left part and drain the remaining coolant. Ignore "Pos. 2".

Disconnect connector "2". Place the "VAS 6208" pan under the engine. Disconnect the hose from the system circulation pump. cooling "V50", loosening clamp "1". "Pos. 3, 4" do not take into account.

Vehicle with electric motor for driving secondary air pump "V101", version 1
Disconnect connector "3" from the secondary air pump motor "V101" and release the wiring. Disconnect the secondary air supply hose "1" by pressing the clips and put it aside. "Pos. 2" should not be taken into account.

Vehicle with electric motor for driving secondary air pump "V101", version 2
Disconnect connector "2" from the electric motor for driving the secondary air pump "V101" and release the wiring. Disconnect the secondary air supply hose "1" by pressing the clips and put it aside. "Pos. 3" should not be taken into account.

Unscrew the screws "1" and nut "3" on the left and right, and remove the pillar "2" of the front support panel.

Unscrew the "arrow" nut on the right side member and release the ground cables.

Remove the seal from the front wall of the water drainage box. Remove the water drainage box cover.

Remove the "arrow" air duct.

Release fuel. hose "1" and hose "2" to the activated carbon absorber on the air duct. Remove vacuum hose "3" from the air duct connection. Remove the air duct hose by loosening the hose clamp "4" and opening the clamps "arrow".

Remove the air casing. filter and, if present, disconnect the "arrow" electrical connector of the "N335" air inlet switching valve on the reverse side.

Remove vacuum connection "2" from the front wall of the water drainage box. To do this, remove the vacuum hose "1" on the rear wall. Disconnect plug "3" of the solenoid valve 1 of the activated carbon canister "N80" and remove vacuum hose "4". Remove the solenoid valve 1 of the canister "N80" from the bracket and set it aside with the hoses connected.

Unscrew the fuel supply. hose from the high pressure pump "arrow" and put it aside. Close open lines and pipes with clean plugs from the VAS 6122 engine plug kit.

Car in design version 1. Remove the system hose. to connect the cooling system to the rear heater heat exchanger from the engine, press the mounting bracket "arrow". For a better view, see the installation. the position is shown from the rear with the engine removed.

Remove the vacuum hose "1" to the Gimatronic coolant shut-off valve "N422" and release it. "Pos. 2, 3" do not take into account.

Vehicle type 2: Disconnect fuel. hose "1" by pressing on the clamps and put it aside. Plug the disconnected pipes and fittings with clean plugs from the engine plug kit "VAS 6122". "Arrows" should not be taken into account.

Disconnect the system hose. cooling from the heater heat exchanger on the bulkhead of the water drainage box, loosening clamp "2". "Pos. 1" should be ignored.

Disconnect the front right hose from the front system pipe. cooling, to do this, lift the "arrow" clamp.

Disconnect the system hose. cooling, to do this, loosen the clamp "arrow". "Pos. 1, 2" do not take into account.

Disconnect the hose from the front pipe of the system. cooling, lifting the "arrow" clamp, and release the hose.

A/m with hydraulics. power steering: Disconnect hoses "1" and "2" from the expansion tank. tank. Unscrew the "arrow" screws, disconnect the connector from the coolant level sensor "F66" and remove the expansion tank.

If present, disconnect the "arrow" connector from the power steering pump. Bend the hydraulic hose downward slightly.

Unscrew the "arrow" screws and disconnect the refrigerant hoses from the air conditioning compressor. Seal the disconnected pipes and fittings with clean plugs from the VAS 6122 engine plug set.

Unlock the lock "arrow A" and open the cover "arrow B".

Unscrew nuts "1" securing the electrical wiring. Remove connector "2" from the mount and disconnect it. Unscrew screw "3" and remove wiring splitter 2 for terminal 30 "TV22" from the "arrow" support.

Unlock the retainers from the wheel arch using a 5.5 open-end wrench "pos. 1" and remove the cable entry "2" upwards. Release the wiring harness "3" to the generator and starter using the release lever -80 - 200-.

Cable channel - option 1: release the wiring harness by unlocking the lock "arrow B" and pulling the cable channel upwards "arrow A".

Cable channel - option 2: open cable channel "1" by unlocking the "arrow" latch and releasing the wiring harness.

Unscrew the nut "1" and tilt the filler neck "2" of the washer fluid reservoir slightly forward "arrow A". Remove the filler neck with the filler tube from the washer fluid reservoir, passing it through the body opening "arrow B".

Unscrew bolts "1" and nuts "2", remove stretcher "3".

Unscrew the arrow bolts and remove the cover of the motorcycle switching unit. compartment. Unscrew nut "1" and release the wire.

Remove the fasteners "arrow A" and open the cover "arrow B" of the engine control unit.

Disconnect (if available) plug connector "2". Disconnect plug connectors "4" and unscrew wire fastening nut "3". Remove the "arrow" fasteners and the fasteners for the relay with fuse holder "1". Disconnect the engine wiring harness at the junction box in the engine. compartment and release it.

Unlock the clamps "arrow A" and remove the cable guide "2" in the upward direction "arrow B". Loosen the ground bolt "1" and release the wiring harness. Place the wiring harness on the engine and secure the engine control unit from falling out.

Disconnect the "arrow" plug connector from the front speed sensors on the left and right.

If available, disconnect connectors "1" of the front left vehicle level sensor "G78" and the front right vehicle level sensor "G289" and release the electrical. "Arrow" cable.

Release the plug connector "2" from the bracket by pulling the locking tab back "arrow A" and turning the connector approx. 90° clockwise "arrow B". Release wire "3" and brake hose "4" on the bracket. Unscrew bolts "1" and hang the brake. caliper with connected brake. a highway with wires in the wheel well. Risk of damage to brake pistons. cylinders. Do not press the brake pedal when the brake is released. support.

Unscrew the nut "2" and remove the bolt "1". Remove the upper guide of the axle strut from the wheel bearing housing upwards "arrow". Repeat the entire work process on the other side of the vehicle.

Unscrew the stabilizer bolt "1" on the left and right. Unscrew nuts "3" on the left and right. Bolts "2" are removed later.

Remove the subframe spacer crosspiece. Do not damage the suspension parts. If the powertrain mounts, steering gear, or subframe crosspiece are not properly secured, the vehicle must not be lowered onto its wheels.

Cars with electric mechanical power steering: Disconnect connector "2" from the power steering control unit "J500", to do this, remove the fuse "arrow" and press the lock down. Disconnect the wiring harness. "Pos. 1" should not be taken into account.

Unscrew the "arrow" screws on the left and right and remove cover "1".

If present, unscrew the "arrow" screws and remove the front cross beam.

Unscrew the nuts "arrows" of the front left muffler.

Unscrew the nuts "arrows" of the front right muffler.

Do not damage the front muffler bellows. Do not bend the bellows in the front muffler more than 10°. Loosen the fastening of the couplings "1" and "2", move them back and remove the front left and right mufflers.

Car with a bolted driveshaft: Unscrew the driveshaft from the gearbox. Fold the driveshaft toward the rear axle drive; constant velocity joints can be folded in the longitudinal direction. Tie the cardan shaft to the side.
Vehicle with inserted propeller shaft: Remove propeller shaft.

Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear and move it upward.

Prepare a lifting table: "VAS 6131 A" with a set of fasteners for Audi "VAS 6131/10", additional set "VAS 6131/11" and "VAS 6131/13" as follows. First, screw the conductors to the lifting table by hand. Install the lifting table "VAS 6131 A" horizontally. Monitor the level (peephole) on the receiving platform. Place the lifting table "VAS 6131 A" under the power unit. Unscrew the bolts "1" of the subframe on the left and right.

Install conductors from "VAS 6131/10" and "VAS 6131/13" left and right on the front of the subframe, as shown in the picture. Make sure the lead screws are fully screwed in.

Install conductors from "VAS 6131/10" at the rear left and right on the front threaded connections of the subframe strut, as shown in the figure.

Install conductors from "VAS 6131/13" left and right on the lower part of the wheel hub bearing housing, as shown in the figure.

Install conductors from "VAS 6131/10" and "VAS 6131/11" at the rear left and right on the tunnel crossbar, as shown in the figure. Turn all the lead screws of the conductors upwards so that all the mounting protrusions enter the mounting points. Screw the support plates of the fastening elements to the VAS 6131 A lift with a torque of 20 Nm.

Mark the mounting on the side members with a felt-tip pen. position of the subframe and tunnel crossmember. Loosen bolts "2" and "3" of the subframe crosswise in several stages.

Unscrew the tunnel cross member arrow bolts.

Loosen bolt "2" on the left and right. Risk of damage to hose and wire connections, as well as the motor. compartment. Make sure that all hose and wire connections between the engine, transmission, subframe, and body are disconnected. When lowering, carefully remove the power unit with the subframe from the motorcycle. compartment.

Lower the power unit using the VAS 6131 A lifting table only by dimension "a". Dimension "a" = maximum 100 mm.

Press the ball head "2" of the gearbox selector cable with the "80-200" lever away from the gear shift lever. Remove retaining clip "1" and disconnect the automatic transmission selector cable from the transmission. Do not bend or break the selector cable.

Lower the power transmission further down. Remove the lifting table "VAS 6131 A" with the power unit from under the vehicle.
Disconnecting the engine and dual clutch transmission 0B5
The power unit is removed and installed on a VAS 6131 A lift. Remove the connector "3" from the holder and disconnect it from the G131 oxygen sensor 2 after the neutralizer. Ignore "Pos. 1, 2.".

Unscrew bolt "1" and nuts "arrows", remove the left neutralizer.

Remove connector "1" of the lambda probe after the "G130" neutralizer from the holder and disconnect it. Remove bolts "3" and place the bracket aside. "Pos. 2" should not be taken into account.

Unscrew bolt "1" and nuts "arrows", remove the right neutralizer.

Disconnect plug "2" of engine speed sensor "G28" and release the wire. "Pos. 1" should not be taken into account.

Cars with electric mechanical power steering: Disconnect connector "2" from the power steering control unit "J500". To do this, remove the "arrow" stopper and press the retainer down. Disconnect the wiring harness. "Pos. 1" should not be taken into account.

Risk of failure of the gearbox control device (Meohatronik) due to static discharge. Do not touch the plug contacts of the gearbox connector with your hands. To discharge static charge, touch the gearbox body with your hand (without gloves). Disconnect the connector from the gearbox by turning the rotary latch counterclockwise "arrow". Release the electrical. wiring harness to the gearbox.

Unscrew the left and right drive shafts from the shafts with the gearbox flange.

Remove cover "1" from the bottom of the "arrow" gearbox.

Insert the guide pins of the adapter "T40058" as shown below: the large diameter "arrow 1" faces the engine, the small diameter "arrow 2" faces the adapter.

When loosening the driven disk bolts, hold the crankshaft with the T40058 adapter and a curved socket wrench to prevent it from turning. Turn the crankshaft only in the direction of engine rotation "arrow".

Remove the 6 "arrow" bolts of the clutch module. To do this, turn the crankshaft 60° in the direction of engine rotation.

Remove the ATF line bolts. Ignore items 1 and 2.

Vehicles with ATF hoses in version 1: Unscrew the bolts "arrows" and disconnect the ATF line "1" from the gearbox. Ignore "Pos. 2, 3".

Loosen bolt "1". Disconnect the ATF line from the ATF filter by removing the retaining clip "arrow". Ignore "Pos. 2".

Attach ATF lines "1" and "2" to the top. Ignore "Pos. 3". Close open lines and pipes with clean plugs from the VAS 6122 engine plug kit.

Cars with ATF hoses in version 2: Unscrew the "arrow" screws, disconnect the ATF lines "1, 2" from the ATF filter housing and tie them up at the top. Seal the disconnected pipes and fittings with clean plugs from the VAS 6122 engine plug set.

Unscrew the "arrow" screw and put the system circulation pump aside. cooling "V50".

Lifting table "VAS 6131 A" with a set of fasteners for Audi "VAS 6131/10", hinged support "VAS 6131/13-7" and mounting bracket "VAS 6131/14" complete as follows. The previous mounting conductors remain in place. Screw in the conductor "VAS 6131/13-7" on the right side of the engine into the threaded hole as shown in the figure. Secure the conductor "VAS 6131/13-7" on a lifting table with a torque of 20 Nm.

Install conductors from "VAS 6131/10" and the gearbox lock "VAS 6131/14" in front of the checkpoint, as shown in the figure. Turn the right and left lead screws upwards so that the gearbox lock "VAS 6131/14" fits snugly against the gearbox. Screw the support plates of the fastening elements to the VAS 6131 A lift with a torque of 20 Nm.

Loosen starter bolts "1" and "2." Push the starter away from the gearbox and leave it in its mounting position. Loosen the remaining bolts "3...10" securing the engine to the gearbox. Ignore "Pos. A". Unscrew the clamping bolts "1" on the side of the "VAS 6131 A" lift and move the rear platform with the gearbox back "arrow".
