General information
1. The turbocharger is installed on all diesel engines directly in the exhaust manifold. Lubrication is supplied through an oil supply tube coming from the oil filter support. Oil is drained into the sump through an oil return pipe attached to the side of the cylinder block. The turbocharger block contains an integral expansion valve and a vacuum diaphragm actuator that regulate the boost pressure applied to the intake manifold.
2. The internal components of the turbine rotate at a very high speed - it is very easy to damage it if even the slightest foreign object or dirt gets inside the turbine.
Warning: Before disconnecting the oil pipes, thoroughly clean the area around them to prevent dirt from entering the turbine. To prevent damage, store removed components in a closed box. Plug all openings and air intake ducts with plastic plugs to prevent foreign objects and dirt from entering the system. Use only a lint-free cloth for cleaning.
Withdrawal
3. Apply the handbrake, raise the front of the vehicle and install safety stands. Remove the lower engine cover.
4. If necessary, remove the top engine cover.
5. On A/C models, loosen the axle bolt and tensioner bolt and move the tensioner pulley up to release tension on the drive belt. Remove the belt from the crankshaft, compressor and tensioner pulleys. Remove the compressor and tie it aside so that it does not interfere, as described in chapter 3. Do not disconnect refrigerant pipes.
6. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the right air inlet hose.
7. Turn away a connecting bolt and dismantle a returnable oil tube of the turbine from the right side of the block of cylinders. Plug the holes to keep dust and dirt out.
8. Remove the bolts securing the turbine to the manifold, but leave the two front bolts to support the block.
9. Remove the air filter assembly as described in paragraph 2.
10. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the front inlet hose from the turbine.
11. Unscrew the union nut and disconnect the oil supply pipe from the turbine (pic. 9.11).
12. Remember the installation method of the two vacuum hoses and disconnect them from the boost pressure control unit (pic. 9.12).
13. Turn away nuts of fastening of a turbocharger to catalytic converter (pic. 9.13).
14. Turn away two bolts of fastening and remove the supercharger from a final collector and neutralizer. Remove the gasket.
Installation
15. Installation - reverse procedure. Pay attention to the following:
- e) Replace gaskets.
- b) Replace all self-locking nuts.
- V) Before connecting the oil supply pipe, fill the turbocharger with clean engine oil from an oil can.
- G) Tighten nuts and bolts to specified torques.
- d) After starting the engine, let it idle for at least a minute so that oil enters the turbine bearings.
