The turbocharger is mounted on the exhaust manifold and includes a wastegate and a vacuum diaphragm. The turbocharger uses oil lubrication.
Oil supply pipe (engine 1Z)
Removal
1. Remove the protective shield from the bottom of the engine compartment.
2. Loosen the mounting nuts and disconnect the exhaust pipe.
3. Remove the turbocharger oil supply pipe (aAT engine).
4. Disconnect the air hose from the turbocharger (aAT engine).
5. Disconnect the return pipe (aAT engine).
6. Remove the return pipe from the engine.
7. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the turbocharger valve (in the picture on the left is the AAT engine, on the right is the 1Z).
8. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the turbocharger.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
