When reversing, the parking aid measures the distance to an obstacle using ultrasonic sensors located in the rear buffer.
The parking aid starts working when reverse gear is engaged. This is confirmed by a short beep.
The warning sound starts to sound when reversing, starting from 1.60 m to the obstacle. As the distance to the obstacle decreases, the time pauses between sound pulses are reduced.
A distance of less than 0.30 m means that you are in a danger zone and must stop reversing. Being in a danger zone is confirmed by a continuous sound signal.
Warning: The acoustic parking aid is not a substitute for the driver's attention. The driver remains responsible for parking and other similar maneuvers.
There are "dead" zones in which the sensors do not detect objects.
Pay special attention to small children and animals, as they are not always recognized by the sensors.
Objects such as trailer drawbars, thin painted bars or fences are not recognized by the system under certain circumstances and may cause damage to the vehicle.
Warning: If the warning signal sounds for 5 seconds when the ignition is turned on, this means that the device is faulty. Have the fault repaired at an Audi service station.
Warning: To ensure the acoustic parking assistance function, keep the sensors clean and free of ice.
When using a trailer, the parking aid is deactivated.
