When reversing, the parking aid measures the distance to an obstacle using ultrasonic sensors located in the rear buffer.
The parking aid starts working when reverse gear is engaged. This is confirmed by a short beep.
The warning horn starts to sound when reversing, starting from 1.60 m to an obstacle. As the distance to the obstacle decreases, the time intervals between sound pulses are reduced.
A distance of less than 0.30 m means that you are in a danger zone and you must stop reversing. Being in the danger zone is confirmed by a continuous sound signal.
Warning: The acoustic parking aid is not a substitute for the driver's attention. Responsibility for parking and other similar maneuvers lies with the driver.
Exist "dead" areas where sensors do not pick up objects.
Pay special attention to small children and animals, as they are not always recognized by the sensors.
Objects such as trailer drawbars, thin varnished rods or fences are not recognized by the system under certain circumstances and may cause damage to the vehicle.
Warning: If the warning chime sounds for 5 seconds when the ignition is turned on, the device is malfunctioning. Have the problem repaired at an Audi workshop.
Warning: To ensure the functionality of the acoustic parking aid, keep the sensors clean and free of ice.
When a trailer is being driven, the parking aid is deactivated.
