Car loading
In order to maintain good vehicle dynamics, make sure that the load is evenly distributed.
Place heavy objects as far forward as possible, i.e. close to the backs of the rear seats or close to the front seats (refer to illustration) with folding backs. The load must not protrude beyond the top edge of the seatbacks.
Tire pressure must match vehicle load - refer to tire pressure decal on filler cap.
Never exceed the total permissible weight and axle load. Their permissible values are given in the vehicle documents.
Warning: Remember that when transporting heavy objects, the vehicle's dynamic properties change due to a shift in the center of gravity.
Warning: Therefore, the driving mode and speed must be selected accordingly.
Warning: Place cargo in the trunk, if possible, with the backrests up and latched.
Warning: Use a safety net* or non-elastic tension straps to secure the load to the lifting eyes. This achieves the greatest degree of security.
Warning: To prevent exhaust gases from entering the passenger compartment, never drive with the tailgate not fully closed, and even more so with the tailgate open!
Rigging loops
There are four lifting eyes in the luggage compartment (arrows).
With the help of these loops, you can secure the load.
Safety net*
The safety net is located in the trunk pocket. With the help of the net, you can securely fasten the load of the trunk.
Insert the mesh hooks into the lashing loops.
After use, fold the mesh and put it in your pocket.
To install and secure the front hooks, insert the hooks parallel to the loop, and then turn them - refer to illustration.
Straighten the safety net in the trunk. At the same time, the inscription "TOR" should point up and the arrow in the direction of travel. The free end of the lashing strap must point towards the tailgate.
Fold up both adjusters and loosen the lashing straps - refer to illustration.
Position the load so that it is as completely under the net as possible.
Pull back the lashing straps and make sure they are tight.
Load-retaining mesh
This net can only be used for securing light loads.
The net prevents the luggage carrier from shifting. To secure the load, thread the hooks through the lashing loops.
Luggage compartment cover
The luggage compartment cover can be used for garments.
Warning: Do not place heavy, hard objects on the luggage compartment cover. When braking hard, they pose a danger to passengers.
In addition, objects rubbing against the rear window can damage the heated rear window.
Opening the tailgate raises the luggage compartment flap at the same time.
If it is necessary to transport bulky goods, the canopy can be removed.
Removing the canopy
At the junction of the canopy in the tailgate, release the locking loops (1).
Pull the canopy (3) back and remove it from the holders (2) - arrows.
To install the canopy, insert it forward into the side holders and attach the locking tabs to the tailgate.
