And the main key
This key fits all locks. When the car is equipped with a remote radio control, instead of the main keys shown in the illustration, two folding keys are included - please refer to the materials below.
Key with backlight
To turn on, press and hold the round button in the center of the handle.
Replacing the battery / key light
Insert a coin into the slot on the side end of the key handle, pry up and remove the top part.
Replace the bulb/battery.

Never leave the tag in the vehicle to prevent unauthorized duplication of the key.
Spare key
If you lose a key, contact an Audi service station immediately to have the function of this key blocked.
To do this, you must present all keys and the tag to the Audi service station.
In addition, you must notify your insurance company of the loss of the key or tag.
Electronic anti-theft lock
Your vehicle is equipped with an electronic anti-theft system.
The lock prevents the car from being stolen thanks to a microchip built into the key handle. See the materials below.
The engine can only be started with the original key.
Warning: If the keychain contains a key from another vehicle, the engine may not start.

Locks with single control1)
The single lock control allows you to simultaneously unlock or lock all doors, the fuel filler flap and the trunk.
You can open and close the car from the outside from the driver's or front passenger's door2) / trunk, both with the key and with the remote radio control of the locks*
1) At the Audi service station, the single-control locking system can be equipped with an additional level of protection.
2) Not possible on vehicles with remote radio control locks*.
Unlocking the car
To unlock your vehicle from the doors, turn the key to the unlock position (left).
At the same time, all door lock buttons are pushed upward and the security alarm is turned off*.
To open the doors, lift the handle.
Locking the car
To lock your vehicle, turn the key inserted into the driver/front passenger door lock to the lock position (to the right). This locks the doors and trunk and also activates the security alarm*.
The readiness of the security alarm* to operate is confirmed by a short flashing of the direction indicators.
The interior lights in the door contact trigger position are switched off.
Warning: The driver's door cannot be locked when it is open. This can only be done after it is closed, and only for that door. This prevents the vehicle from being accidentally locked.
Warning: When locking, all door lock buttons must be pressed in. If any door button does not move, open it again and close it correctly.
Warning: The single lock control operates from the driver's door only after the door is closed.
Warning: If the single control fails, each lock can be used in the normal mode - up to the fuel filler cap. Emergency unlocking of the fuel filler cap is discussed in the subsection Refueling and emergency release of the fuel filler flap.
Heated door locks
The heating is switched on when the door handle is lifted briefly and the outside air temperature is below +5°C.
The warm-up time is set automatically depending on the actual temperature. The maximum warm-up time is about 50 seconds. You cannot increase the warm-up time by holding the handle in the upper position.
Once the warm-up cycle is complete, it can be resumed by lifting the door handle again.
Comfortable closing
When locking the vehicle from the driver's or front passenger's door, you can close the windows and the sliding/tilting roof panel* in the following sequence:
Keep the key in the lock position or press the remote control lock button* until all windows and the sliding/tilting roof panel are completely closed. Returning the key to the home position / releasing the transmitter button immediately stops the closing process.
When unlocking the vehicle with the key on the driver/front passenger side, you can open all windows at the same time by turning and holding the key in the unlock position or pressing the remote control unlock button* until the windows reach the desired position.

Warning: Never leave children unattended in a vehicle, as locked doors prevent outside assistance from being provided to occupants in an emergency.
Warning: Locking the doors and trunk prevents unwanted entry into the vehicle from outside, for example when stopped at traffic lights.
When the single control lock system switch is pressed, the security alarm* does not turn on.
The open driver's door cannot be locked using this switch. This can only be done after it is closed, and only for that door.

Opening and closing the trunk door

For opening trunk with the keyhole in a vertical position, press one of the two hidden buttons and lift the door. The door then opens automatically to a height of approximately 1.80 m.
From this position, the door can be moved to any desired position, up to the final one.

After synchronization, the device is ready for use again.
Initializing the device
When replacing a lost key, as well as after repair/replacement of the receiver, the remote control must be initialized at an Audi service station. Only then can it be used.
Security alarm*
Standard version
The security alarm is designed to prevent attempts to break into and steal a car. In the event of a break-in, the system starts to give sound and light alarm signals.
When the vehicle is locked, the system monitors the following potential attack targets:
- underhood space
- trunk
- doors
- audi radio system
- car interior
- ignition.
The alarm system is automatically activated when the vehicle is locked using the key inserted into the driver/front passenger door or trunk lock, or by remote control, and is deactivated when unlocked. The system enters guard mode approximately 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked.
The system confirms its readiness for operation, as well as the fact that the doors, hood and trunk are properly closed, by flashing the direction indicators when the car is locked.
If there is no light signal, check and, if necessary, close the doors, hood and trunk correctly. If you do this with the system already on, it will confirm the correct closing by flashing the turn signal lights.
Before leaving the vehicle, make sure all locking buttons are depressed and all windows, doors and sunroof panel* are closed.
Warning: When the car is locked from the trunk side and the driver's door is open, the alarm system is not activated. It is activated only after the driver's door is closed.
LEDs
After locking the vehicle, the LEDs next to the door lock button flash quickly for about 30 seconds and then slowly. This indicates that the alarm system, including interior monitoring, is armed. If the LEDs are constantly lit for about 30 seconds instead of flashing, this indicates a malfunction of the interior monitoring function.
Disabling the cabin control function

The interior control function switch is located on the door pillar.
1. Disable the interior monitoring function when locking the car and the possibility of the alarm being triggered as a result of animals or moving objects being in the car.
2. Open the driver's door.
3. Press the switch located on the door pillar. The diode in the switch lights up. Additionally, the LED located next to the door lock button lights up for about 3 seconds.
4. Lock the car.
5. The LEDs located next to the door locking buttons flash quickly for 3 seconds. After 30 seconds of locking, the LEDs start flashing slowly.
6. When the vehicle is subsequently locked, the interior monitoring function is automatically reset to operating mode.
Export version for some countries (for example UK)

If the LEDs are constantly lit for about 30 seconds instead of flashing, this indicates a malfunction of the interior monitoring function.
Unlocking the car
When the vehicle is unlocked, the alarm system can only be deactivated by using the remote control.
The vehicle will automatically lock if it is not opened within 60 seconds of the radio signal being sent.
When you unlock the car with the key from the driver's door, all other doors, the trunk and the fuel filler flap remain closed. To deactivate the alarm, you must insert the key into the ignition within 15 seconds of opening the door and turn on the ignition. Otherwise, the alarm will sound.
When the front passenger door or trunk is unlocked or opened with the key, the security alarm is immediately triggered.
The alarm is switched off only after the door/trunk is closed or after its operating cycle has been completed.
Warning: When unlocking the vehicle with the key from the driver's door, the single lock is fully operational only after the ignition is turned on.
