Security alarm*
Standard version
The burglar alarm is designed to prevent burglary attempts and car theft. In case of penetration into the car, the system starts to give sound and light alarms.
On a locked car, the system controls the following objects of possible attacks:
- engine compartment
- trunk
- doors
- Audi radio system
- vehicle interior
- ignition.
The burglar alarm is automatically activated when the vehicle is locked with the key inserted in the driver's/front passenger's door or trunk, or with the radio remote control, and is deactivated when the vehicle is unlocked. The system enters guard mode approximately 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked.
When the vehicle is locked, the system confirms that it is ready for operation and that the doors, hood and trunk are correctly closed by flashing the direction indicators.
If there is no light signal, check and, if necessary, properly close the doors, hood and trunk. If this is done already with the system turned on, it will confirm the correct closing by the subsequent flashing of the direction indicator lights.
Before leaving the vehicle, make sure that all lock buttons are depressed and that all windows, doors and sunroof* are closed.
Warning: When the vehicle is locked from the trunk side and the driver's door is open, the burglar alarm will not activate. It is activated only after the driver's door is closed.
LEDs
After the vehicle is locked, the LEDs next to the door lock button flash for about 30 seconds in fast mode and then in slower mode. This indicates that the burglar alarm has been activated, including interior monitoring. If the LEDs stay lit for approximately 30 seconds instead of a flashing code, this indicates a malfunction in the interior monitoring function.
Deactivating the interior monitoring function
The interior monitoring function switch is located on the door pillar.
1. Disable the interior monitoring function when the car is locked and the likelihood of an alarm being triggered as a result of the presence of animals or moving objects in the car.
2. Open the driver's door.
3. Press the switch located on a rack of a door. The diode in the switch is lit. In addition, the LED next to the door lock button lights up for about 3 seconds.
4. Lock up the car.
5. The LEDs next to the door lock buttons flash rapidly for 3 seconds. 30 seconds after locking, the diodes start flashing slowly.
6. When the vehicle is subsequently locked, the interior monitoring function is automatically brought back into operation.
National version for some countries (e.g. UK)
- ignition
Car lock
The burglar alarm is automatically activated when the vehicle is locked with the key inserted into the lock of any front door or tailgate, or by remote control*. The system enters guard mode 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked.
When the vehicle is locked, the system confirms its readiness for operation, as well as the fact that the doors, hood and trunk are closed properly, by flashing the direction indicator lights.
LEDs
After the vehicle is locked, the LEDs next to the door lock buttons flash for about 30 seconds in fast mode and then in slower mode. This indicates that the burglar alarm has been activated, including interior monitoring. A steady glow of the LEDs for about 30 seconds instead of a flashing light indicates a malfunction of the interior monitoring function.
Unlocking the car
When the vehicle is unlocked, the burglar alarm is deactivated only when using the radio remote control.
The car will automatically lock if it is not opened within 60 seconds after the radio signal is given.
When the vehicle is unlocked with the key from the driver's door, all other doors, trunk and fuel filler cap remain closed. To disable the security alarm, insert the key into the ignition lock within 15 seconds after opening the door and turn on the ignition. Otherwise, an alarm will be triggered.
When unlocking and opening the front passenger door or trunk with the key, the burglar alarm is activated immediately.
The alarm is only deactivated after the door/trunk is closed or after its cycle has been completed.
Warning: When unlocking the car with the key on the driver's side, the single lock is fully ready for operation only after the ignition is turned on.
Warning: The burglar alarm is immediately triggered when one of the battery strip terminals is disconnected (provided that it is in watchdog mode).
