Engines 1Z, AFF and AHU
Removal
1. Remove the turbocharger as described in paragraph 9.
2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air duct from the intake manifold.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
4. Unscrew the two bolts securing the EGR valve to the intake manifold.
5. Loosen the nuts and remove the small heat shield from the front of the exhaust manifold.
6. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the intake manifold from the cylinder head. Remove the gaskets from the intake manifold and the EGR valve.
Installation
7. Installation - reverse procedure. Use new manifold and EGR valve gaskets.
AFN and ANN engines
Removal
8. Remove the EGR valve and pipe from the intake and exhaust manifolds and set the assembly aside. There is no need to disconnect the vacuum hoses from the EGR valve.
9. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air duct from the intake manifold.
10. Remove the oil feed pipe bracket from the exhaust manifold.
11. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the intake manifold from the cylinder head. Remove the gaskets from the intake manifold and the EGR valve.
Installation
12. Installation - reverse procedure. Use new manifold and EGR valve gaskets.
