Warning: Do not attempt to open a system containing refrigerant yourself (refer to the warnings contained in paragraph 10). To open the system, contact a qualified technician. After completing the operation, ask him to install new sealing rings on the pipe connections.
Removal
1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
2. Set the front panel to the "service" position as described in chapter 11.
3. Entrust opening the system to a qualified specialist.
4. Remove the drive belt as described in the relevant section chapters 2.
5. Loosen the mounting bolts and disconnect the refrigerant pipes from the compressor. Remove the sealing rings and discard them - new ones are required for installation. Plug the connection holes to prevent dirt or moisture from entering the system.
6. From the rear of the compressor, disconnect the electromagnetic clutch wiring connector and, if equipped, the shaft speed sensor.
7. Unscrew three (nippondenso model) or four (zaxel model) the mounting bolt at the front of the compressor and remove it from the mounting bracket.
Installation
8. Installation - reverse procedure. Tighten all fasteners to the specified torques. At the end of the operation, have a qualified technician install new sealing rings and fill the system with refrigerant.
