Execution order



1. Where available, remove the cover on the air filter.

2. Remove the air intake hose from the air filter housing and place it in front of the suction device.

3. Remove the carbon filter solenoid valve from the bracket and set aside; the hoses and wires remain connected.

4. Naturally aspirated engines: Open the four clamps around the filter housing.

5. Lift the filter housing cover - the air hose to the throttle valve pipe on the engine remains connected.

6. Remove the filter insert.

7. Turbo engine: Only operate when the turbocharger is cold.

8. Unscrew the heat shield.

9. Remove the thin pipe from the clamps.

10. Loosen the clamp on the air hose and remove it.

11. Open the four clamps around the filter housing.

12. Disconnect the connectors at the front of the temperature sensor (break through the wire tie), on the final ignition stage and on the fresh air flow meter (under the rubber nozzle).

13. Remove the filter housing cover.

14. Remove the filter insert.

Step 1: Remove the air intake hose (3), remove the cover (4). Then the upper part (2) of the housing is exposed. Bolt "1" is unscrewed only for dismantling the filter housing.

Step 2: Once the clamps (2–5) have been opened, the upper part of the housing can be removed, and the filter insert (6) becomes accessible. The number "1" here indicates the air filter housing mounting bolt.

1. Remove the air filter insert (see above).

2. Loosen the hex bolt at the wheel arch.

3. Remove the mounting pins at the bottom of the filter housing from the rubber fittings on the body.

4. Remove the housing.
