Removal
Unscrew bolts "1" and remove the air filter housing cover from the bracket "arrow". Remove the air filter insert.
Installation
To ensure the air flow meter functions properly, it is important to follow the instructions below and to ensure that the operating procedure is followed.
Instructions. If the air filter insert is heavily soiled or wet, dirt particles or moisture may enter the air flow meter and distort the measured air mass value. This will result in a loss of power, since a smaller fuel injection volume is calculated. Use only the original air filter insert. Hose fittings and hoses of the air boost system must be cleaned of oil and grease before installation. Do not use silicone-containing lubricants during installation. The air filter housing must be clean. Use clamps of the appropriate series to secure all hose connections. When blowing out the air filter housing with compressed air, observe the following rules: to avoid malfunctions, important air-conducting units such as the air flow meter, air duct tubes, etc. must be covered with a clean rag. Disposal instructions must be followed! Check the patency of the drain hose (if available), clean if necessary. The drain must be free. Clean the air filter housing (upper and lower parts) from salt residues, dirt or leaves (vacuum if necessary). Check the air flow meter and air duct hose (side of clean air) for salt, dirt and leaves. Check the air duct from the radiator frame to the air filter housing for dirt and leaves. When installing the air filter insert, keep in mind that it is centered by the mount at the bottom of the air filter housing. Install the upper part of the air filter housing onto the lower part carefully, without applying excessive force. In this case, ensure that the upper part of the air filter housing is installed on the air filter insert without skewing (watch the sealing edges of the air filter insert). Ensure that the air duct hose is securely seated on the G70 air flow meter.
