Order of execution
1. Brake fluid is poisonous. Therefore, do not touch it with your mouth or open wounds.
2. Brake fluid corrodes car paint. Therefore, do not place rags soaked in brake fluid or tools soiled with brake fluid on top of the paintwork.
3. When loosening the brake hose or brake tube, the brake fluid gradually flows out of the expansion tank. Prevent this as follows: before loosening the screw connection in the relevant brake circuit, loosen the bleed screw. Put on the bleed hose and lower it into the container. Fully depress the brake pedal and secure it in this position with a piece of wood. This will close the fluid ports in the brake master cylinder and no more brake fluid will spill out.
4. To unscrew and tighten the brake pipes, you must buy the brake pipe wrench shown
5. You need an open end wrench to reverse the brake hoses.
6. After work carried out in the hydraulics of the brake system, it must always be pumped. It is often sufficient to bleed only the brake circuit on which the work was carried out.
Dismantling the brake pipes
1. Unscrew the union nut of the brake pipe. Hold the opposite connection securely, eg at the end of the brake hose.
2. If the nut on the tube is rusty and does not rotate, then in any case the tube must be changed. Thin-walled tubes break off quickly.
3. To unscrew the tubing connectors, the following advice may help if this piece of tubing is to be replaced anyway:
4. Saw off the brake pipe near the screw connection, unscrew the flare nut with a wrench such as «nut» with a hexagon.
5. Lay brake pipes in the spacer arms intended for them.
Dismantling the brake hoses
1. First unscrew the union nut of the respective brake hose. When doing this, make sure that the hose is not twisted.
2. If the brake hose is attached to the body with a metal bracket, then it is fixed with a metal clamp to prevent shifts. When assembling, do not forget about this so-called hose bracket.
3. When installing, always screw on the hose first where it has an external thread.
4. Then tighten the other screw connection.
5. The brake hose must not be twisted. The control is a colored strip or a rubber roller along the hose.
6. Bleed the brake system.
7. Immediately after the repair, check if the hose will rub anywhere during shock-absorbing movements.
8. Repeat this test after a long drive.
