Table of contents: Removal ↓ Installation ↓
The fuel pump is located on the side of the cylinder block and is driven by an auxiliary shaft.
Caution: If the fuel pump membrane is damaged, this will cause problems with fuel supply. In this case, check the fuel pump supply pressure. It should be: 0.35-0.4 bar or 4000 rpm. The return line should be closed at the same time.
Removal
Caution: Do not work near open flames.
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Secure the pressure and suction hoses with clamps; if there are no clamps, plug the ends of the hoses with screws of a suitable diameter after removing them to prevent gasoline from leaking out.
Remove the fuel hoses on the pump, having first completely loosened the clamps
Unscrew the 2 Allen bolts and remove the fuel pump together with the insulating flange.
Installation
Check the insulating flange for damage and replace if necessary.
Check the ease of movement of the pusher by moving it back and forth.
Place the fuel pump with the insulating flange and new cross-section seal and tighten with a torque of 20 Nm.
Put on the fuel hoses and secure them with clamps. The top hose goes from the gas tank or fuel filter, the bottom hose goes to the carburetor or vapor separator.
Connect the ground cable to the battery and, with the engine running, check the pump for fuel leaks.
