Chassis number up to 8z 2 070 000
The fuel filter is located on the driver's side, rear left, next to the fuel tank.
Unscrew the nuts "arrows" and remove the heat shield "2". Press the upper heat shield towards the exhaust system.
Unscrew the "arrow" nut and remove the mounting bracket. Remove the fuel lines from the mount on the body.
Instructions. Make sure that diesel fuel does not get into the coolant hoses. If necessary, flush the hoses immediately!
Remove the mounting bracket "4". Remove the control valve "3" with the fuel lines connected. Remove the fuel hoses "1" and "5" from the hose fittings.
Installation
Fill the new filter "6" with clean diesel fuel. This will allow the engine to start faster. Replace the sealing rings "2" in the regulating valve. When installing the regulating valve, pay attention to the position of the sealing rings in the valve. Install the regulating valve "3" with the fuel lines connected. Install the mounting bracket "4". Put the fuel hoses "1" and "5" on the fittings and secure them with clamps.
Instructions. The flow direction is indicated by arrows (do not mix up the connections).
Secure the fuel lines to the bracket on the body. Install the mounting bracket and secure the fuel filter with a nut. Tightening torque: 10 Nm. The fuel hoses on the body must be accessible. Start the engine and visually check the fuel system for leaks. Install heat shields on the body so that there is no air between them and the moving parts (noise sources) there was a gap.
Chassis number with 8Z "3" 000 001
The fuel filter is located on the driver's side, rear left, next to the fuel tank.
Unscrew the nuts "arrows" and remove the heat shield "2".
Clamp the fuel supply hose "11" with the hose clamp "3094". Unscrew the drain plug "1" with the socket wrench SW 10 and drain the fuel. Unscrew the cap "3" with the socket wrench SW 27 and remove the filter element.
Installation
Replace sealing rings "2" and "3". Installation in reverse order. Cover: 25 Nm. Drain plug: 2 Nm. Start the engine and visually check the fuel equipment for leaks.
