Fuel injection pump (CAMA, CAMB, CCWA, CCWB, CGKA, CGKB, CCLA)
Caution! To avoid dry running of the fuel injection pump (very tight tolerances) and in order to quickly start the engine after replacing parts, the following points must be observed. When removing or replacing fuel parts/components. the first fuel filling must be carried out between the fuel tank and the high-pressure fuel pump. system.. After removing or replacing the fuel. pump, fuel line (between the tank and the high-pressure fuel pump) or fuel filter, it is necessary to bleed the fuel before starting the engine for the first time. system.. 1. Bolt; M6: 9 Nm, M8: 23 Nm.
2. Fuel injection pump console.
3. Bolt: 9 Nm.
4. Protective screen.
5. High pressure line union nut.
6. High pressure pump: after replacing the high pressure fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulating valve "N276", it is necessary to carry out re-adaptation; remove the fuel injection pump timing belt pulley using the T40064 puller. Before installing the timing belt, complete the following steps. The crankshaft TDC must coincide with the camshaft TDC. In addition, the fuel injection pump toothed belt pulley must be held in place by the "T40135" retainer. (It is important to prevent the timing belt from swinging!) Before starting the engine for the first time, fill the high-pressure fuel pump with fuel. The high-pressure pump must not run dry.
7. Hose clamp: Use only hose clamps that match the standard equipment.
8. Fuel supply. hose.
9. Reverse fuel. hose: return fuel. the main line must not be kinked, damaged or clogged.
10. Hose clamp: Use only hose clamps that match the standard equipment.
11. High pressure line union nut.
12. Bolt: 23 Nm.
Removal
Before putting on the timing belt, the fuel injection pump timing belt pulley must be held in place with the "T40135" retainer. (It is important to prevent the timing belt from swinging!). Remove the upper part of the intake manifold. Remove the fuel injection pump timing belt. Unscrew the arrow bolts and remove the high-pressure line protective screen. Unscrew the union nuts "1...4" and release the high-pressure lines.

Disconnect connector "3". Remove the fuel supply. hose "1" and return fuel. hose "2". Unscrew the screws. "arrows" and remove the fuel injection pump.

Install
Installation in reverse order. Replace all gaskets and seals. rings. Reverse fuel. the lines must not be kinked, damaged or clogged. If it is necessary to replace the timing belt, remove the fuel injection pump timing belt pulley using the T40064 puller.

Before putting on the timing belt, the timing belt pulley "1" of the fuel injection pump must be held in place by the clamp "T40135". (It is important to prevent the timing belt from swinging!) For correct installation of the injection pump timing belt, the 2 TDCs must coincide.

TDC in crankshaft "1".

TDC in the camshaft "arrow".

Install the fuel injection pump timing belt. Install the fuel pump. high-pressure lines. Install the upper intake manifold. After replacing the high-pressure fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulating valve "N276", it is necessary to perform adaptation. Use the Tester for this.
