Fuel injection pump (CAMA, CAMB, CCWA, CCWB, CGKA, CGKB, CCLA)

Caution! To avoid dry running of the fuel injection pump (very tight tolerances) and in order to quickly start the engine after replacing parts, the following points must be observed. When removing or replacing fuel parts/components. the first fuel filling must be carried out between the fuel tank and the high-pressure fuel pump. system.. After removing or replacing the fuel. pump, fuel line (between the tank and the high-pressure fuel pump) or fuel filter, it is necessary to bleed the fuel before starting the engine for the first time. system.. 6. High pressure pump: after replacing the high pressure fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulating valve "N276", it is necessary to carry out re-adaptation; remove the fuel injection pump timing belt pulley using the T40064 puller. Before installing the timing belt, complete the following steps. The crankshaft TDC must coincide with the camshaft TDC. In addition, the fuel injection pump toothed belt pulley must be held in place by the "T40135" retainer. (It is important to prevent the timing belt from swinging!) Before starting the engine for the first time, fill the high-pressure fuel pump with fuel. The high-pressure pump must not run dry.

Removal

Before putting on the timing belt, the fuel injection pump timing belt pulley must be held in place with the "T40135" retainer. (It is important to prevent the timing belt from swinging!). Remove the upper part of the intake manifold. Remove the fuel injection pump timing belt. Unscrew the arrow bolts and remove the high-pressure line protective screen. Unscrew the union nuts "1...4" and release the high-pressure lines.
