- opening any of the side doors, the hood or the trunk lid/tailgate;
- any movement in the cabin;
- tilting the car (for example, when trying to remove a wheel or load a car onto a tow truck);
- attempt to turn on the ignition;
- attempt to remove the proprietary Audi audio unit;
- termination of the on-board power supply.
When the hazard warning lights are triggered, the horn and direction indicators will be switched on intermittently. To switch off the hazard warning lights, unlock the main lock with the remote control or switch on the ignition.
The anti-theft alarm is activated 30 seconds after the main lock is locked (see Section 1). During these 30 seconds, the anti-theft alarm indicator located in the driver's door flashes rapidly, and then the frequency of the indicator flashes decreases. This indicates that the anti-theft alarm is activated, including monitoring of the interior volume. If, instead of flashing rapidly, the indicator lights continuously, then the anti-theft alarm is faulty.
If you pull the key before locking the single lock (A and/or B in the illustration), located on the side of the driver's door niche, the interior volume control function and/or the vehicle tilt control function will be disabled accordingly. After disabling these functions, the LED in the corresponding key lights up, and the anti-theft alarm indicator in the driver's door additionally lights up for approximately 3 seconds. After locking the single lock, this indicator flashes rapidly for three seconds. Disabling these functions may be necessary to prevent false alarms of the anti-theft alarm when transporting the vehicle (for example, on a ferry) or if pets are left in the cabin.
Note: If it is necessary to disable the above anti-theft alarm functions, this should be done before each locking of the main lock.
The engine immobilizer reads the code of the chip built into the key. If the code of the key inserted into the ignition switch is accepted, this is confirmed by a short switching on of the immobilizer K/L (see Section 15). If the chip code does not match the code programmed in the control unit, the engine will not start. In this case, the immobilizer K/L will blink.
If you cannot start the engine with the correct key, this may be due to the influence of other keys with an immobilizer chip or other devices located on the same keychain with the working key - try using the working key separately. All vehicles discussed in this Manual are equipped with a set of means designed to ensure the safety of the life and health of the driver and passengers in the event of an accident. This includes seats equipped with headrests, seat belts (passive elements), as well as emergency seat belt tensioners and airbags (active elements). This also includes additionally installed special child restraint devices (see below), window lift blocking (see Section 6) and additional locking of rear door locks (see Section 2).
