Caution: Turn off the engine first and do not smoke when removing the fuel filler cap.
The fuel filler flap is located on the right side at the rear of the vehicle. The flap lock is unlocked by unlocking the single lock from the outside of the vehicle (see Section 1). If the electric drive of the lid lock is faulty, it can be unlocked manually. To do this, open the luggage compartment, remove the plug on the right wall and pull the handle located behind the plug in the direction of the arrow (see illustration 4.1).
4.1. Emergency release handle for the fuel filler flap
To open the hatch cover, press your fingers on its front edge.
Unscrew the screw cap of the fuel tank filler neck and fix it to the filler flap cover (see illustration 4.2).
Note: The cap should be loosened slowly and gradually to relieve fuel pressure in the tank.
4.2. Fixing the removed filler cap
After refueling, tighten the filler cap until it clicks into place.
