To finally release the hood, lift it up and at the same time pull the additional locking lever in the direction of the arrow (see illustration 3.1) and open the hood.
Note: Make sure that the wiper arms are not pulled away from the glass beforehand.
3.1. Additional bonnet release lever
The hood is held open by gas-filled struts.
Before closing the hood, make sure that there are no tools, rags or other foreign objects left in the engine compartment.
To close the hood, release it from a small height. Check the reliability of the hood locking in the closed position by pulling it up by the front edge.
Note: To avoid damaging the paintwork, do not press the loosely closed hood with your hands; the correct way is to open it again and release it from a small height.
