Note: Not all models are equipped with a sunroof. In some configurations, a solar panel is built into the sunroof cover, which powers the air conditioning fan. The interior trim of such a sunroof cover does not slide separately from the cover. Description of the control of the sunroof using a single lock (comfort closing function) given in Section 1.
Caution: The sunroof mechanism has an anti-pinch function, which means that if excessive resistance is encountered when closing the sunroof, the sunroof will stop. However, do not prevent the sunroof from closing, as this may result in injury. If the sunroof switch is continuously pulled, the anti-pinch function is temporarily disabled. When leaving the vehicle, take the key with you to prevent children remaining in the vehicle from being injured by playing with the sunroof.
The electric sliding/tilting sunroof operates when the ignition is switched on. It is also possible to operate the sunroof for approximately 10 minutes after the ignition is switched off, as long as no front door is opened.
The control is carried out using a switch located in the upper console (see illustration 5.1).
5.1. Top hatch cover control switch.
To slide the sunroof to the optimum position for minimum wind noise, turn the switch to the fixed position (1). To slide the sunroof completely, turn the switch to position (2). In position (0), the sunroof is not moved and can be raised. The intermediate positions of the switch are not fixed and are used to slide the sunroof to intermediate positions. When the sunroof is moved, the sunblind is automatically moved (on models with a solar powered sunroof, the sunshade is not included). When the sunroof is closed, the sunshade can be closed manually.
To raise/lower the top hatch cover, set the switch to position (0), press/pull it and hold it until the cover rises/lowers to the desired height. If you press/pull the switch briefly, the cover will automatically rise/lower completely. When the cover lowers automatically, briefly pull the switch again to stop the cover movement.
In case of malfunction of the electric drive of the upper hatch cover, it can be moved manually. To do this, take it from the on-board tool kit (see figure 4 Introduction) screwdriver, press the screwdriver on the main interior light latches (see illustration 5.2) and remove it from the overhead console. Take the bent rod wrench located on the inside of the mounting block cover at the left end of the instrument panel (see Chapter 12). Insert the rod wrench into the socket of the electric motor (see illustration 5.3) and, turning the key, move the top hatch cover. Install the interior light diffuser in place, first inserting its clips into the sockets.
