Adjusting the front seats
Note: It is not permitted to adjust the seats while the vehicle is moving.
The design of car seats guarantees maximum comfort for the person sitting in them, while simultaneously providing conditions for the most effective performance of their functions by seat belts and airbags.
The choice of seat position also affects the safety of the occupant. For example, if the front seat is moved too far forward, the risk of injury to the occupant increases when the airbag is deployed, as well as the risk of being thrown through the windshield in a frontal collision. Increasing the angle of the seat back will worsen the fixation of the body by the seat belt - the more the seat back is tilted back, the higher the probability of the occupant's body slipping under the lap section of the belt in a strong frontal impact, and the more severe the injuries may be.
Lock the front seat in a position that is as far away from the steering wheel/dashboard as possible while still allowing comfortable control of the vehicle; bring the back to a vertical position.
The front seats are adjusted using levers and handles (on models without electric seat adjustment), either by means of switches (on models with electric seats), - see illustrations 10.1 and 10.2. The switches are located in accordance with the seat design; to adjust, move the corresponding side of the corresponding switch in the desired direction. To adjust the tilt of the central front armrest (see illustration 10.3) lower it completely and then raise it to the desired locked position. There is a storage compartment in the central front armrest, which can be opened by pressing the button shown in Illustration 10.3.
10.1. Seat adjustment handles. 1. Longitudinal adjustment of the seat (lift up to release the lock); 2. Extended knee support, sports seats only (pull the key up and move the support); 3. Full seat tilt adjustment, sports seats only (lift up to release the lock); 4. Seat height adjustment (pull up or down); 5. Adjusting the lumbar support (rotate in the appropriate direction); 6. Backrest tilt adjustment (rotate in the appropriate direction)
10.2. Seat adjustment handles. A. Adjusting the position of the seat cushion (forward/backward movement, front/rear edge height adjustment, whole seat height adjustment); B. Adjusting the seat backrest angle; C. Adjusting the height and protrusion of the lumbar support
10.3. Storage compartment release button in the central front armrest.
Adjusting headrests
Head restraints prevent injury to the cervical spine in the event of a rear-end collision. The head restraint should be adjusted in height so that its upper edge is level with the upper edge of the occupant's head.
The rear outboard head restraints, as well as the front head restraints, can be raised and lowered manually (the front headrests can be additionally tilted). To raise the headrest, pull it up, and to lower it, press the lock (And in illustration 10.4) and press the head restraint into the seat. To remove the head restraint, pull it up as far as it will go, press the lock (B) and pull the head restraint out of the seat.
Note: The same latch located at the base of the head restraint (similar to "B" in Illustration 10.4) is used to lower and remove the center rear seat head restraint.
10.4. Lowering (A) and removing (B) locks for the front passenger seat headrest.
Memory for driver's seat and outside rearview mirrors
With the appropriate equipment, it is possible to store up to four positions of the driver's seat and outside rear-view mirrors in the memory.
Note: The lumbar support position is not stored in the memory. The buttons for recalling and storing the seat and outside rearview mirror positions are located in the driver's door (see illustration 10.5).
10.5. Seat and mirror position memory control keys.
To save the current settings, turn on the ignition, make sure that the "STOP" button is depressed, press the "MEMO" button and, while holding it down, press one of the four number keys for at least 1 second. If the corresponding key already had settings assigned, they will be replaced with the current ones.
The recall of the stored positions can be carried out automatically or manually.
Caution: When using the automatic mode, make sure there is enough space behind the seat. If you press one of the memory control panel buttons while the settings are being applied, the seat movement will stop.
In manual mode, briefly press the key with the corresponding number (with the driver's door open) or (with the driver's door closed) hold this button until the seat and mirrors are in the desired position.
Automatic mode consists of automatically bringing the driver's seat and mirrors to the position corresponding to the memory cell associated with the remote control currently used to unlock the car. When unlocking with the remote control, the mirrors take the desired position immediately, and the seats begin to move only after the driver's door is opened.
Note: The driver's door must be opened within 10 minutes after unlocking the vehicle, otherwise the seat will not move.
To use the automatic mode, you must first assign the desired memory cell to the desired remote control (number key), which it will duplicate. To do this, bring the seat and mirrors to the desired position using the digital key, then press this key again and, while holding it, press the unlock key on the corresponding remote control within 10 seconds. After 2 seconds, release the digital key.
To cancel the assignment of the memory button function to the remote control, press and hold the "MEMO" key and press the unlock key on the corresponding remote control within 10 seconds. After 2 seconds, release the "MEMO" key.
To deactivate the memory function, press the "STOP" button. The "OFF" sign next to it lights up if the instrument lighting is on. When the memory function is deactivated, the driver's seat and outside mirrors can only be adjusted in the normal way (via electric drive keys).
Back seat
The rear seat is divided into two sections in a ratio of 40:60. Both sections together or separately can be folded forward to increase the volume of the luggage compartment. To fold the back of the rear seat forward, pull its handle (And in illustration 10.6) in the direction of the arrow and pull the top edge of the back forward.
10.6. Rear seat back release handle.
When returning the backrest to the vertical position, make sure that the seat belts are not caught between the backrest and the body. After returning the backrest to its original position, make sure that it is securely fixed. When correctly fixed, the red mark on the pin (B) should not be visible.
If necessary, the release handle can be locked by turning the key clockwise in its hinge. This may be necessary to prevent entry into the luggage compartment from the passenger compartment. To release the lock, turn the key counterclockwise.
The rear seat center armrest folds down from the center seat backrest. The armrest contains a storage compartment that can be opened by pressing a button at the front of the armrest (by analogy with illustration 10.3). This storage box can store a first aid kit or other items with a total weight of up to 0.5 kg.
There is a double cup holder in the front part of the armrest (see illustration 10.7). To open the cup holder, press one of the places (A). To install the corresponding cup holder (B), release its lock in the direction of the arrow and at the same time adjust its position so that it fits tightly to the container.
Warning: When the vehicle is moving, do not place containers with hot liquid or glass containers in the cup holders, as in the event of an accident or sudden maneuvering/braking, hot liquid or heavy containers may cause burns or injuries.
10.7. Cup holders in the rear armrest.
In some trim levels, a hatch with a built-in cover for transporting long items may be equipped behind the rear central armrest (for example, skis). To use this hatch, open its cover from the luggage compartment side (see illustration 10.8), fold down the central rear armrest, open the front hatch cover located behind it and straighten the cover. After loading the luggage, insert the cover strap (And in illustration 10.9) into the central seat belt buckle (B) and pull the belt tightly by its free end.
Note: Before folding the wet cover, it should be dried.
10.8. Rear seat hatch cover.
10.9. Securing long baggage.
Additional seat functions
Depending on the equipment, the front and rear outboard seats may have a 6-stage heating function.
Note: To avoid damage to the heating elements, do not kneel on the seat.
The front seat heating switches are located in the center console (20 in illustration 14.1), and the rear seat heating switches are located in the lower rear console between the seats (see illustration 10.10).
10.10. Rear seat heating switches.
Note: The rear seat heating only operates when the rear seats are occupied.
To turn on the seat heating, move the corresponding switch from the "0" position and set it to the desired heating level. To turn it off, turn the switch to the "0" position.
When the driver's seat heating is turned on, the steering wheel heating is automatically turned on (see Section 11).
