Note: It is possible to store up to four positions of the driver's seat and outside rear-view mirrors in memory, - see Section 10.
Exterior rear view mirrors
Note: The exterior rearview mirrors are curved, which increases the field of view, but objects in the curved parts of the mirrors appear further away than they actually are. Such mirrors are intended for assessing the traffic situation and should not be used to determine the distance to an object.
Note: The heated exterior mirrors are switched on automatically when the ignition is on, depending on the outside air temperature.
The position of the outside rear-view mirrors can be adjusted either electrically or manually by pressing on the corresponding edge of the mirror.
The controls for the electric drive of the outside rear-view mirrors are located on the armrest in the driver's door (see illustration 11.1).
11.1. Controls for electric drive of outside rear-view mirrors. 0 - Neutral position; A - Folding both mirrors; L - Left mirror adjustment; R - Right mirror adjustment.
To adjust one of the mirrors, turn the switch to the appropriate position (L or R), and then tilt the switch up/down and left/right to adjust the mirror position. To fold the outside mirrors, turn the switch to position (A).
Caution: If the electric mirror is displaced by external forces, fold the mirrors using the electric drive and then unfold them (return to the "0" position). Do not return the mirrors to their original position by hand to avoid damaging them.
On some models, if the mirror selector switch is in the (R) position, the right outside rearview mirror automatically tilts down when reverse gear is engaged, providing a better view when reversing. To deactivate this feature, move the mirror selector switch to the (L or 0) position. The mirror returns to its original position when reverse gear is disengaged and the vehicle is moving forward at a speed greater than 15 km/h.
Interior rear view mirror
To adjust the interior rearview mirror, simply change its position with your hand.
At night, move the lever located at the bottom of the mirror housing forward to reduce the glare from the headlights of vehicles moving behind.
On models with automatic dimming rearview mirrors, this function can be turned on and off using the button (And in illustration 11.2) on the interior mirror. When switched off, the indicator (B) goes out, and when switched on, it lights up. Each time the ignition is switched on, the automatic function is switched on by default. The automatic dimming function of the mirrors is automatically switched off when the interior lighting is switched on, as well as when the reverse gear is engaged.
11.2. Switch (A) and indicator (B) for automatic dimming of rear-view mirrors.
The automatic dimming of the mirrors uses a photocell located to the right of the switch. Do not block this photocell for the automatic system to function properly. There is another photocell on the front side of the rearview mirror housing that is responsible for the automatic headlight control. This photocell should also not be blocked.
Steering wheel
Caution: Do not adjust the steering wheel while the vehicle is moving.
Note: A description of the buttons located on the steering wheel is provided in Section 20.
The steering column should be adjusted so that the steering wheel is in line with the driver's chest. A position in which the steering wheel is in line with the driver's face is incorrect because it reduces the protective function of the driver's front airbag.
To adjust, lower the lever (31 in illustration 14.1) down, set the required reach and tilt of the steering column, return the lever to its place and make sure that the steering column is securely fixed.
The heated steering wheel is switched on automatically when the driver's seat heating is switched on (see Section 10), if the air temperature in the cabin is less than 20°C. The steering wheel heating temperature is preset and cannot be adjusted.
