The standard anti-theft system includes an engine immobilizer and an anti-theft alarm.
Engine immobilizer
Each key has a chip (transponder) immobilizer. Immobilizer (a transceiver located in the ignition switch) reads the code of the chip built into the key. In this case, the key must be inserted into the ignition switch. If the chip code does not match the programmed code, the engine will not start (the speedometer display will show "SAFE"). The immobilizer is activated immediately after the key is removed from the ignition. If the immobilizer recognizes the correct key code when the ignition is turned on, it is deactivated. Note: The error in recognizing the correct key code may be caused by the influence of other keys with an immobilizer chip or other devices located on the same keychain as the car key - try using the key separately.
Immobilizer errors are displayed on the speedometer display with the message "SAFE".
Anti-theft alarm
An anti-theft alarm system is a means of protection against ignition switching, against unauthorized persons entering the engine compartment, as well as into the vehicle's interior through the doors or trunk. The anti-theft system includes a siren with an independent power source and interior volume control sensors; additionally, vehicle tilt sensors can be installed. Interior control sensors (if available) prevent unauthorized persons from entering the vehicle by monitoring any movements occurring inside the vehicle. Tilt sensors (if available) activate an alarm when the vehicle is lifted, helping to protect it from being towed or having a wheel removed.
Note: Do not activate the interior volume control sensors if there are people, animals or other moving objects in the vehicle.
The anti-theft alarm is activated when the ignition is turned off, 30 seconds after the main door lock is locked from the outside of the vehicle. The activated anti-theft alarm is triggered:
- When disconnecting the battery;
- When attempting to turn on the ignition without authorization;
- In case of unauthorized access attempt to the vehicle;
- Based on the signal from the tilt/volume sensors.
When the anti-theft alarm is triggered, the siren is activated (for 30 seconds) and emergency light signaling (for 5 minutes). Any further attempts to perform the listed actions will result in the alarm being triggered again.
The driver's door has an indicator for the anti-theft alarm status. The indicator flashes rapidly for the first 30 seconds after locking the car, and then more slowly (when the alarm system with tilt/interior volume control sensors is activated). If the indicators light continuously for 30 seconds instead of flashing, this indicates a malfunction of the anti-theft alarm system.
Deactivation or switching off of the anti-theft alarm occurs when a single lock is unlocked using the remote control or through the system "Advanced Key". If the main lock was opened with a metal key, the anti-theft alarm is deactivated or switched off when the ignition is turned on.
In some cases, the interior volume control sensors and the vehicle tilt sensor should be disabled to prevent false alarms from the anti-theft system. For example, this may be necessary if there are people, pets or moving objects left in the car (for example, sheets of paper, hanging objects on a mirror, a vibrating mobile phone), the door windows are left down, the sunroof is left slightly open, the glasses holder in the overhead console is open, when the vehicle is being transported on a ferry, tow truck or by rail, when a trailer is being connected or disconnected from a vehicle with the alarm system activated.
To activate the anti-theft system without turning on the sensors, remove the key from the ignition, open the driver's door, and press the desired button on it (see illustration 2.1) and lock the car. If the specified actions are not performed the next time the anti-theft system is activated, the sensors will be automatically turned on.

After disabling the cabin volume control, the indicator in the corresponding button lights up. In addition, the anti-theft alarm indicator in the driver's door lights up for three seconds. After locking the car with the sensor disabled, the anti-theft system indicator flashes rapidly for approximately 3 seconds, and after 30 seconds it starts flashing more slowly.
