Table of contents: Installation ↓ Timing Belt Tension ↓
1. Unscrew the tension roller mounting nut (1).

2. Turn the eccentric counterclockwise with the HAZET 2587-1 key so that the tension roller can be secured with the T 10115 locking pin or similar.
3. Turn the HAZET 2587-1 key clockwise until it stops and tighten the nut (1) by hand.

4. Remove the timing belt first from the coolant pump and then from the remaining gears.
Installation
1. Check whether the tension roller is secured with the locking pin T 10115 and whether it is secured with the nut on the right stop.
Warning: Adjustment work on the toothed belt must only be carried out on a cold engine. When turning the camshaft, any piston must not stop in the TDC position. Risk of damage to valves/piston crowns.
2. Check the position of the tension roller: Stop tab (arrow on the accompanying illustration) must fit into the groove on the cylinder head, otherwise the holder must be moved accordingly.

3. Check again whether the TDC marks match.
4. Loosen the camshaft wheel mounting bolts so that the wheel can move in the oblong holes.
5. Place the wheel in the oblong holes in the middle position.
6. Place the timing belt on the camshaft sprocket, tension roller, crankshaft sprocket and lastly on the coolant pump sprocket.
Timing Belt Tension
1. Remove the T10115 locking pin.

2. Unscrew the tension roller mounting nut (1).
3. Turn the tension roller eccentric clockwise using the HAZET 2587-1 key so that the pointer (2) is centered in front of the support plate window.
4. While holding the tension roller in this position, tighten the tension roller mounting nut to the torque 20 Nm + 45°.
5. Tighten the camshaft wheel mounting bolts to the specified torque 25 Nm.
