General information about the 6-cylinder engine (Audi A4 B6)
Engines – V-shaped DOHC with two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder. Each bank of cylinders has two camshafts. One toothed belt drives the intake camshaft, which in turn rotates the exhaust camshaft via a gear transmission. The high-pressure fuel pump of the distribution type is driven by a separate toothed belt.
