Removal
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Warning: Follow the instructions in Section Replacing the battery.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Remove the parking brake lever trim, refer to Section Removal and installation the parking brake lever trim.
4. AT: Move the selector back.
5. Remove the shift lever cover and remove the lever.
6. Remove the front and rear ashtray, refer to Section Removal and installation the ashtray.
7. Remove the center armrest if equipped, refer to Section Removal and installation the central armrest.
8. Remove the radio, refer to Section Removal and installation radio/navigation device/CD changer.
9. Remove the heater/air conditioner control panel, refer to Section Removal and installation the heater/air conditioning control unit.
10. Disconnect the shift pad (2) from the center console, refer to Section Removal and installation the drink holder.
11. Remove the right and left covers (3) from the center console and unscrew the mounting screws in the footwell area.
12. Using a plastic wedge, remove the cover (5) from the center console under the parking brake lever.
13. Depending on the model, disconnect the cigarette lighter or navigation control unit connector.
14. Unscrew the 2 fastening screws (7) on the connecting element (6) and remove the connecting element.
15. Remove 2 screws (8) under the ashtray.
16. Remove 4 screws (9) and 2 screws (10) securing the center console (1).
17. Car with center armrest: Unscrew the nut (11).
18. Unscrew 2 nuts (12).
19. Pull the center console (1) back and remove it from the floor.
Warning: The center console is difficult to remove.
Installation
1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. In this case, nuts (11) and (12) are tightened to a torque of 26Nm.
2. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
