Center console — removal and installation (Audi 80 B3)

1. Raise the parking brake lever, then use a screwdriver to remove the trim panel from under the lever. Insert the screwdriver through the parking brake lever opening to release the catch from the mounting tab, then remove the catch. Remove the lower trim (photo).





2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the ashtray, then unscrew the rear fastening of the center console (photo).





4. Using a lever, remove the trim from the front cover and unscrew the mounting bolt (photo).





5. Lift the center console and remove it forward from the parking brake lever (photo).





6. Unscrew and remove the gear shift lever handle (photo).



7. Loosen one screw and remove the cover from the gear shift lever (photo).







8. Remove the trim and screws securing the console to the panel.

9. Pull the console off the brackets on the base and remove it (photo).





10. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
