1. The seat belt attachment points are shown in Fig. 11.24.
2. Access to the mounting points of the central pillar is obtained by removing the rear seat cushion (Chapter 31), then remove the screw securing the inner sill trim panel. Unscrew the special nuts and pull out the inner sill trim panel. Unscrew the base of the center pillar trim panel and detach it from the top (photo). When installing the panel, make sure that the height adjustment button engages the center pillar mechanism correctly.

3. Check that the height adjustment is done correctly (photo).

4. Access to the rear seat belt anchors can be gained by removing the rear seat cushion and seatback as described in Chapter 31. Unclip the D-pillar trim and pull it up. Unscrew the seat belt from the floor bend and pull the shelf forward (photo).

5. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, but at the same time tighten the anchor bolts with the specified force Specification.
6. On models equipped with the Procon-Ten restraint system, note that the front inertia reels are permanently attached to the system cable. Therefore, the cable must be removed along with the seat belts. This involves removing the front pillar trim, manual air dam control (if any), disconnecting the cable holder at the rear of the gearbox and replacing all plastic guides. In view of the safety aspect, it is recommended that this work be carried out by an Audi dealer.
