
1. Some models are equipped with a central locking system that automatically locks all doors in unison with the manual locking of any front door. The system is controlled by a pump (photo) that provides vacuum and pressure to the door lock.

2. If there is damage in the system, then first of all the condition and safety of the hoses.
3. The pump is located on the right side of the luggage compartment and is accessible by removing the interior trim.
4. The switch components (photo) are accessible after removing the door trim panel as described in Chapter 14. Check that the linkage rod is in the upper position (the door is open) position before pressing the lock button. Remove the mounting screws and disconnect the air line and the multi-plug electrical wiring.

5. Access to the trunk lid switch element is obtained by removing the right rear interior trim on the tail light side. Make sure that the air control system pipe is installed between the interior trim and the transmission linkage rod (Fig. 11.27).

6. Access to the rear door switch element can be gained by removing the rear trim panel.
