The car lock system can be unlocked and locked centrally. The following can be used: radio key; door handles for cars with a "chip key"; driver's door lock cylinder; central locking system switch in the passenger compartment.

Direction indicator lights

When unlocking the car lock system, the direction indicator lights flash twice, and when locking the car lock system, they flash once. If the lights do not flash, this indicates that the door, trunk lid, or engine compartment lid is not closed.

Automatic closing ("Auto Lock")

The "Auto Lock" function is designed to automatically lock the door lock system and the trunk lid when the vehicle speed reaches approximately 15 km/h. The vehicle lock system is unlocked after the ignition key is removed. In addition, the vehicle can be unlocked by pressing the central lock system switch or by pulling one of the door handles. The "Auto Lock" function can be switched on and off in the radio or MMI. In addition, in the event of an accident with the Airbag deployment, the door locks are automatically unlocked to provide rescuers with access to the vehicle.

Selective door unlocking

When the car is locked, the doors and trunk are locked. In the radio or MMI, you can choose whether only the driver's door or the entire car is unlocked when unlocking. The central locking system is equipped with a burglar-proof function. When the car is locked from the outside, the interior door handles of the car do not work. This reduces the risk of breaking into the car.

Anti-theft alarm

In case of detection of intrusion into the car, the sound and light anti-theft alarm system is activated. The anti-theft alarm is automatic and is activated when the car lock system is blocked.

When the vehicle lock system is unlocked using the radio key, the alarm is deactivated. When unlocking the vehicle lock system using the key on the driver's side door, the ignition must be switched on for approximately 15 seconds. Otherwise, the anti-theft alarm is triggered. In some export versions of the vehicle, the alarm is triggered immediately upon the next opening of one of the doors. The anti-theft alarm is deactivated by pressing the lock system unlock button on the radio key or by switching on the ignition. The alarm is also deactivated at the end of its operating cycle. To avoid unintentional triggering of the alarm, switch off the interior monitoring and anti-skid control functions.

Unintentional blocking of the vehicle locking system when the radio key is left in the passenger compartment

In the following cases, unintentional locking of the vehicle locking system is prevented when the radio key is left in the passenger compartment: when the vehicle locking system is locked using the central locking system switch, the vehicle is not locked if the driver's side door is open; if the last used radio key in a car with a "chip key" is in the trunk, the trunk door will automatically unlock again after closing.

Attention. No one, especially children, should remain in a locked vehicle with the burglar-proof function activated, as it will then be impossible to open the doors and windows. In the event of an accident, locked doors make it difficult for rescuers to enter the vehicle - life-threatening! Never leave valuables unattended in the vehicle. Even with the vehicle locked, complete burglar-proof protection is not guaranteed! If the LED in the driver's door lights up for approximately 30 seconds after locking, there is a malfunction in the central locking function or the alarm system. Have the malfunction rectified by an Audi dealer/specialist. The interior monitoring function included in the anti-theft alarm system only functions properly with the windows and panoramic roof panel closed.

Press the release button "A". Remove the emergency key "B" from the radio key. Press the release button "A" on the battery holder, while pulling the holder out of the radio key in the direction of the arrow. Install a new CR 2032 battery with the "+" sign facing down. Carefully insert the battery holder into the radio key. Insert the emergency key. The replacement battery must match the specification of the original battery (CR 2032).

A malfunction in the electrical system may result in the ignition key being locked in the lock. If it is impossible to remove the key from the ignition lock, for example, due to the discharge of the car battery, then it is necessary to act as follows: press the release button "A" and remove the emergency key "B" from the radio key; lock the car with the emergency key; check the electrical system at a specialized company.

To unlock the car lock system, press the button

To lock the car lock system, press the button

To open the trunk lid, press the button and hold it down for at least 1 second. If you do not open a door, trunk or engine compartment lid within 60 seconds after unlocking the vehicle locking system, the vehicle locking system will lock automatically again. This function prevents unintentional, prolonged unlocking of the vehicle locking system. The radio or MMI settings determine whether the entire vehicle or only certain doors are unlocked when unlocking. On vehicles with automatic transmission, the gearshift lever must be in position "P", otherwise the vehicle will not lock.

Attention. No people, especially children, should remain in a car that is locked from the outside and has the anti-burglary function turned on, since in this case it will be impossible to open the doors and windows. In the event of an accident, blocked doors make it difficult for rescuers to enter the car - life-threatening!

Refers to cars: with a "chip key"

Door handle: car lock

Door handle: car lock

The doors and trunk can be locked and unlocked without pressing the radio key buttons.

Unlocking a car

Take hold of the door handle. The door is unlocked automatically. To open the door, pull the door handle.

Blocking a car

Set the gearshift lever to position "P" (automatic transmission), otherwise it will not be possible to lock the car. To lock the car, touch the sensor located in the door handle once. To lock the car without activating the burglar protection, touch the sensor a second time within 2 seconds. The car can be locked and unlocked from any door. When unlocking the front passenger door, the driver's door is always unlocked as well. The radio key must be approximately 1.5 m from the corresponding door/trunk. It does not matter whether the radio key is, for example, in a jacket pocket or a case. If you grab the handle while the locking system is locked, the door locking system may malfunction. It is not possible to reopen the door for a short time immediately after closing. This allows you to make sure that the door is closed correctly. The radio or MMI settings determine whether the entire car or just one of the doors is unlocked when unlocking.

Note: If the car is not in use for a long time, remember the following: in order to save energy, the proximity sensors are switched off after a few days. In this case, pull the door handle once to unlock the car, and then pull the handle a second time to open the car; in order to avoid discharging the battery and thus maintain the starting power of the car for as long as possible, the energy management system alternately switches off unnecessary comfort functions. In this case, there is a possibility that the car will not be able to be unlocked using this comfort function.

Note: If the car is not in use for a long time, remember the following: in order to save energy,…

The driver can specify via the radio or MMI which doors should be unlocked by the central locking system. Select: CAR function key → Central locking system. In the Unlock individual doors menu, you can set which doors should be unlocked when the vehicle is unlocked. If the menu item "Unlock individual doors" is selected on, then pressing the unlock button on the radio key once will unlock only the driver's door. As before, all doors and the trunk can be unlocked. To do this, press the unlock button on the radio key twice. In addition, the automatic locking function ("Auto Lock") can be switched on and off. When the vehicle is locked automatically, all doors and the trunk are locked. If the menu item "Tailgate" is selected on, the trunk handle does not work. In this case, the trunk lid can be opened using the button on the radio key or the unlock button in the door on the driver's side. In cars with a comfort key, the handle continues to operate if the original key is near the proximity sensor. If the menu item "mirror folding" is selected, the automatic folding function of the outside mirrors is activated - the mirrors are folded when the lock button located on the radio key is pressed...

If the central locking system fails, each door must be locked separately. In the front passenger door from the end and in the rear doors (visible only when the door is open) the emergency locking device is installed. Remove the emergency key from the radio key. Remove the cap from the hole. Insert the key into the slot and turn it all the way to the right (right door) or to the left (left door). Once the door is closed, it cannot be opened from the outside. The door can be opened from the inside by pulling the door handle once. When the locking device 1 of the rear doors is activated, for child protection purposes, it is necessary to open this door from the outside after pulling the handle once from the inside.
