When unlocking and locking the vehicle, the central locking system unlocks or locks all doors, the boot and the fuel filler cap centrally. The car can be unlocked and locked using the radio remote control locks or the key from the driver's door and trunk.
You can also centrally open and close windows. The sliding roof panel can only be closed centrally.
The central locking system is equipped with burglary protection. When the vehicle is locked from the outside, the door unlock handles inside the vehicle do not work. This makes it more difficult for the car to break into.
If the central locking system fails, all locks can be opened and locked independently with the key. The exception is the fuel manhole cover.
Automatic locking
At the first speed increase of 15 km/h after the start of the movement, all doors and the trunk are automatically locked.
The car is automatically unlocked again when the ignition key is removed from the lock. The vehicle can also be unlocked by pressing the button located in the driver's door or by pulling the door handle twice.
At Audi, the central locking system can be equipped with an automatic locking function.
Attention. When the car is locked from the outside and the anti-burglary protection is on, people should not remain in it - and especially children, because in this case it will be impossible to open doors and windows in the cabin. Locked doors make it difficult for rescuers to get inside the car in the event of an accident - danger to life!
Note
- At Audi, the central locking system can be equipped with an additional degree of security if desired.
- If the central locking system fails, the driver's door and trunk can be unlocked and locked with the key in the normal way.
- If the central locking system fails, the anti-burglary and burglar alarms cannot be activated.
Key unlocking
- Turn the key inserted in the driver's door lock to unlock position A or turn the key inserted in the trunk lock to the left.
- All doors, the fuel filler cap and, if necessary, the trunk are unlocked.
- All door lock buttons are pushed up.
- Break protection is disabled.
- The security alarm is turned off.
- Holding the key in the unlock position opens the windows.
Locking with a key
- Turn the key inserted in the driver's door lock to the lock position B or turn the key inserted in the trunk lock once to the right.
- All doors and trunk are locked.
- All door lock buttons are recessed.
- The interior lights in the actuation position from the door contacts are switched off.
- Holding the key in the locked position closes the windows and sunroof.
- The burglar alarm and burglar alarm are activated immediately.
Locking the car without turning on the anti-burglar protection
If it is necessary to leave passengers in the car, the doors can be locked without activating the anti-burglary protection.
To do this, turn the key inserted in the driver's door lock into lock position B twice in succession at short intervals.
When the anti-theft protection is disabled, the vehicle can be unlocked from the inside. To do this, pull back the handle of the relevant door once. The door is opened by retracting the handle.
The included anti-burglary system makes it more difficult for the vehicle to be broken into. When the anti-burglary protection is on, the door release handles and the central locking system switch do not function.
Attention. When the car is locked from the outside and the anti-burglary protection is on, people should not remain in it - and especially children, because in this case it will be impossible to open doors and windows in the cabin. Locked doors make it difficult for rescuers to get inside the car in the event of an accident - danger to life!
Note
- Also, when the car is locked without the anti-burglary protection being activated, the burglar alarm is activated. Therefore, first deactivate the interior monitoring function, otherwise the alarm may be triggered unintentionally.
- The open driver's door cannot be locked. This can be done only after it is closed, and in relation to it alone. This prevents accidental locking of all doors.
- If the central locking system fails, the anti-burglary and burglar alarms cannot be activated.
Central locking switch
A switch located in the driver's door makes it possible to use the central locking system in the car's interior.
Locking all doors, trunk and fuel hatch
- Press the bottom side of the switch.
Unlocking all doors, the filler cap and, if necessary, the trunk
- Press the top side of the switch.
When locking the vehicle with the central locking switch, remember the following:
- Doors and trunk cannot be opened from the outside (prevents unwanted entry into the passenger compartment, e.g. when stopping at traffic lights).
- The doors can be unlocked and opened from the inside autonomously by retracting the door handles. To unlock, pull the handle of the relevant door until the lock release button is pushed to the up position. By retracting the handle, the door can be opened from the inside. To lock, press and push the lock button of the relevant door lock.
- An open driver's door cannot be locked by pressing this switch. This can be done only after it is closed, and in relation to it alone. This prevents accidental locking of all doors.
- In the event of an accident with the deployment of airbags, the doors locked from the inside are automatically unlocked to provide rescuers with access to the vehicle.
Attention. The central locking system switch also works when the ignition is switched off. Pressing this switch automatically locks all doors and the trunk. Never leave children unattended in the car, as locked doors in an emergency prevent the provision of outside assistance to people in it - life threatening!
Note. When anti-burglary protection is enabled, the central locking system switch has no effect.
Central locking system with additional security function
The central locking system with an additional security feature allows only the driver's door and the fuel filler or trunk lid to be unlocked. The rest of the locks remain locked.
Unlocking the driver's door and the fuel hatch or trunk lid
Turn the key once in the unlocking direction or press the radio remote control unlock button once.
Simultaneous unlocking of all doors, trunk and fuel hatch
Within 5 seconds, turn the key twice in the direction of unlocking or, within 5 seconds, press the button for unlocking the radio remote control of the locks twice.
Approximately 5 seconds after the trunk is unlocked, the trunk locks automatically again.
Also, when only the driver's door or the tailgate are unlocked, the burglary protection and the burglar alarm are deactivated immediately.
Trunk lid
From the side of the trunk lock, you can centrally unlock and lock the vehicle's doors.
Locking doors and trunk
- Turn the key to the right A.
Unlocking doors and trunk
- Turn key to the left B.
Locking the doors and permanently locking the trunk in the locked position
- Turn the key a quarter turn to the right C.
Trunk opening
- Pull one of the two hidden handles and lift the lid at the same time.
Closing the trunk
Pull the lid down and close it with a light blow.
When the key is removed from the horizontal keyhole, the trunk lock is released from the control of the central locking system and locked in the permanently locked position. When the key is returned to the vertical position, the trunk lock is again under the influence of the central locking system.
Pulling the boot lid down is facilitated by gripping the gutter on the inner lining.
Attention
- After closing the trunk, be sure to try to lift the lid to make sure it snaps into place. Otherwise, it may suddenly open while driving, even when the lock is locked - risk of accident!
- To prevent exhaust gases from entering the passenger compartment and, as a result, poisoning, never drive with an incompletely closed, and even more so with an open trunk lid!
