The roof rack allows you to transport additional cargo.

When transporting cargo on the roof of a vehicle, remember the following:
  • The car's gutters are designed into the roof to take away rainwater. Therefore, you cannot use regular roof racks. We recommend using the support brackets included in the Audi genuine car accessories range.
  • These support brackets are the basis of a complete roof rack. For the transport of luggage, bicycles, windsurfing boards, skis and boats, additional fastenings should also be used for safety reasons. All components of this system are available at Audi.

Caution. If other roof rack mounting systems are used or if the roof rack is not installed according to the instructions, any damage caused by this will not be covered by warranty. Therefore, the roof rack support system must be mounted exactly according to the instructions provided.

Attachment points

Attach the roof rack only to the marked locations.

Installation

When installing the support brackets, make sure that they fit precisely between the marking arrows in the roof sealing protrusion. The markings are only visible when the doors are open.

Roof load

The load on the roof must be securely fastened. When transporting cargo, the dynamic properties of the car change.

The permissible load on the roof of your car is 100 kg. The roof load is determined by the sum of the weight of the fastening system and the load.

When using mounting systems with a lower load capacity, the permissible roof load cannot be fully utilized. The roof rack may only be loaded up to the limit specified in the installation instructions.

Attention. When transporting heavy or large objects on the roof of a vehicle, do not forget that the dynamic properties of the vehicle change due to the shift in the center of gravity and the increase in aerodynamic resistance.
