Locking up children
Child locking from the rear doors
The child lock prevents the rear doors from being opened from the inside.
The rear doors are equipped with a child lock. The device is operated by the car key.
Turning on the device
- Turn the key inserted into the slot to the left B.
Disconnecting a device
- Turn the key inserted into the slot to the right A.
When the child lock is activated, the inside door handle does not function. The door can only be opened from the outside.
Remote radio control of locks
The radio locking system allows you to unlock and lock the car remotely.
Functions of the radio remote control system:
- Unlocking and locking the vehicle
- Trunk unlocking
Unlocking and locking the vehicle is confirmed by the flashing of all direction indicator lights. In addition, when the switches are in the door contact position, the interior lighting is automatically turned on or off.
The transmitter with a battery is built into the radio key handle. The receiver is located inside the car. The maximum range is determined by various factors. As the batteries are discharged, the range decreases.
An integral component of the radio key is a folding bar designed for mechanical unlocking and locking of the car, as well as starting the engine.
The radio remote control must be initialized by Audi when a lost key is replaced or after a repair/replacement of the receiver. Only then can it be used. The radio remote control fulfills all the necessary criteria and is approved for use by the German Federal Telecommunications Authority (Federal Approvals Office For Telccomunications Of The Federal Republic Of Germany). All components are marked in accordance with the current regulations. This operating permit forms the basis for the authorization to operate in other countries.
Note
- When the ignition is switched on, the radio remote control is automatically switched off.
- Temporary negative impact on the performance of the device may have an overlap of transmitters operating in the same operating frequency band and located near the vehicle (e.g. mobile phones, TV stations).
Unlocking and locking the vehicle
Unlocking the car
- Press button A for about 1 s.
car lock
- Press button B for about 1 s.
Trunk unlocking
- Press button C for at least 1 s.
Unlocking the vehicle is confirmed by flashing the direction indicators twice. Within about 60 seconds after unlocking the vehicle with button A, open the doors or the trunk, as the vehicle will automatically lock after this time has elapsed. This function prevents unintentional and prolonged unlocking of the vehicle.
On vehicles with a central locking system and a secondary security function, pressing button A once unlocks only the driver's door and the fuel hatch, and pressing the entire vehicle twice. When the doors and trunk are properly locked, the direction indicator lights flash once.
In addition, when the vehicle is unlocked, the key-operated memory for the position of the seat and mirrors is activated. Reproduction of the programmed position of the driver's seat and exterior mirrors is carried out automatically.
Attention. In a vehicle locked from the outside with burglary protection turned on, no one should remain - especially children, because. doors and windows do not open from the inside. Locked doors prevent the occupants from being assisted in an emergency - danger to life!
Note
- Use the remote control only with the doors and trunk closed.
- Using the remote control requires mandatory visual contact with the vehicle.
- Do not press the lock button in the vehicle while the key is not in the ignition, in order not to unintentionally lock the vehicle and trigger the alarm. If this still happened due to indiscretion, you should press the unlock button.
Synchronization
Radio key synchronization is required if the vehicle cannot be unlocked.
- Press one of the radio key buttons.
- Unlock or lock the vehicle once with the radio key inserted into the door lock.
The maximum duration of the synchronization process should not exceed 1 min.
Security alarm
car with burglar alarm
The burglar alarm is triggered when the vehicle is broken into.
The burglar alarm is designed to prevent burglary attempts and car theft. In case of unauthorized entry into the machine, the system starts to give sound and light alarms.
Turning on the alarm
The burglar alarm is automatically activated when the car is locked with the key from the side of the closed driver's door or trunk, or by radio remote control. The system enters watchdog mode approximately 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked.
The alarm will not activate if the key is turned to the locked position twice within one second.
Turning off the alarm
When the vehicle is unlocked, the burglar alarm is deactivated only when using the radio remote control. The car will automatically lock if it is not opened within 60 seconds after the radio signal is given.
When the vehicle is unlocked with the key from the driver's side, all other doors, trunk and fuel lid remain locked. To disable the security alarm, it is necessary to insert the key into the ignition lock and turn on the ignition within 15 seconds after opening the car from the driver's door. If the ignition is not switched on within 15 seconds, an alarm will be triggered.
When unlocking and opening the trunk with the key, the burglar alarm is immediately triggered. The alarm is turned off only after the trunk is closed Or at the end of its operation cycle.
When does the security alarm turn on?
On a locked car, the system controls the following objects of possible attacks:
- engine compartment (hood)
- trunk
- doors
- ignition
- radio system (only original Audi radio system)
- vehicle interior.
The burglar alarm is immediately triggered when one of the battery terminals is disconnected (provided that it is in watchdog mode) When unlocking and opening the trunk with the key, the burglar alarm is immediately triggered.
How is the burglar alarm turned off?
The burglar alarm is deactivated when the vehicle is unlocked with the radio remote control or the ignition is switched on with the key. The alarm is also switched off at the end of its operation cycle.
Turn signal lights
When the vehicle is locked, the system confirms its readiness for operation, as well as the fact that the doors, hood and trunk are closed properly, by flashing the direction indicator lights.
In the absence of a light signal, check and, if necessary, properly close the doors, hood and trunk. If this is done already with the system turned on, it will confirm the correct closing by the subsequent flashing of the direction indicator lights.
LEDs
After the vehicle is locked, the LEDs next to the front door lock buttons flash for approximately 30 seconds in fast mode and then in slower mode. This indicates that the burglar alarm has been activated, including interior monitoring. If the LED stays on continuously for about 30 seconds instead of a flashing code, this indicates a malfunction of the security alarm.
Note
- Before leaving the vehicle, make sure that all door lock buttons are depressed and all doors, windows, and the sunroof are closed. This ensures that the alarm system is fully functional.
- When unlocking the vehicle with the key on the driver's side, the central locking system is fully operational only after the ignition is switched on.
Interior monitoring system
When the vehicle's interior motion control system registers, an alarm is activated.
Deactivate the interior monitoring system if an alarm is likely to be triggered as a result of being in the vehicle interior, for example, animals or moving objects.
Disabling the interior monitoring system
- Press the button located on the door pillar.
- Lock up the car.
After the interior monitoring system is turned off, the diode in the button lights up. Additionally, the LEDs next to the door lock buttons light up for about 3 seconds. After the vehicle is locked in quick mode, the LEDs next to the door lock buttons flash for 3 seconds. 30 s after that, the diodes start flashing slowly.
When the vehicle is subsequently locked, the saloon control system is automatically reactivated.
Attention. No one should remain in a car locked from the outside - especially children, because. the doors do not open from the inside. Locked doors and in an emergency prevent the provision of outside assistance to people in the car and people - life threatening!
