To remove and fold the key, press the unlock button.
The car comes with two (in some countries four) main key (foldable radio remote control keys) A and one emergency key B. These keys fit all locks. The car kit also includes a plastic pendant C with a number in case of production in case of loss of a new key.
Use the emergency key only if the master key is lost or cannot be used.
Attention
- When leaving the car, even for a short time, always remove the ignition key from the lock, especially when leaving children in the car. Children can start the engine or turn on electrical appliances (e.g. power windows) - risk of accident!
- Remove the key from the lock only after a complete stop! Otherwise, the steering wheel may unintentionally lock into place - risk of accident!
Note. To prevent unauthorized key duplication, never leave pendant C in the vehicle.
Spare key
When ordering spare keys, remember the following:
- For safety reasons, contact only Audi.
- Indicate the key number printed on the pendant.
If a key is lost, contact Audi immediately to have the function of the key blocked. To do this, all keys and suspension must be presented to Audi. In addition, the loss of a key or pendant must be reported to your insurance company.
A spare key can only be made based on the key number. The key number is located on the plastic hanger C, which is included with the vehicle.
When selling the car, hand over the plastic suspension to the new owner.
Replacing the key battery
Each main key is supplied with two disk batteries located in cover B of the transmitter body.
We recommend that the batteries be changed at the Audi workshop. If you still decide to replace the batteries yourself, then for this you need to:
- Remove key.
- Carefully turn the screwdriver to separate the key component A from the transmitter body B.
- Remove the transmitter housing cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the figure.
- Remove the used batteries from the case cover.
- Install new batteries. So install the batteries so that the markings "+" was below. The correct polarity is also indicated on the cover of the transmitter housing.
- Insert the cover with installed batteries into the transmitter body and squeeze both parts.
- Insert the body of the transmitter into the key component and connect both parts until they stop.
Note. Synchronize the remote control device if you cannot open and close the car using it after replacing the batteries.
Electronic anti-theft lock
An electronic anti-theft lock prevents unauthorized vehicle operation.
A microcircuit is mounted in the key handle, with the help of which the anti-theft lock is automatically turned off when the key is inserted into the ignition lock. When the key is removed from the ignition lock, the anti-theft lock automatically enters the guard mode.
Note
- Your vehicle's engine can only be started with an appropriately coded Audi Genuine Key.
- Under certain circumstances, the engine cannot be started if another vehicle's ignition key is in the keychain.
