To remove and fold the key, press the release button.

The car comes with two (in some countries four) main keys (folding radio remote control keys) A and one emergency key B. These keys fit all locks. The car also comes with a plastic hanger C with a number in case of production in case of loss of a new key.
Use the emergency key only if the main key is lost or cannot be used.
Attention
- Always remove the ignition key from the car when leaving it even for a short time, especially when leaving children in the car. Children can start the engine or turn on electrical equipment (for example, electric windows) - risk of accident!
- Remove the key from the lock only after a complete stop! Otherwise, the steering wheel may accidentally snap into the lock - risk of accident!
Note: To prevent unauthorized duplication of the key, never leave the C pendant in the vehicle.
Spare key
If you need to order spare keys, remember the following:
- For safety reasons, please contact your Audi dealer only.
- Please indicate the key number printed on the pendant.
If you lose a key, contact Audi immediately to have the key function blocked. To do this, you must present all keys and the pendant to Audi. In addition, your insurance company must be notified of the loss of the key or pendant.
A spare key can only be made based on the key number. The key number is located on the plastic hanger C, which is included with the car.
When selling your car, please pass on the plastic suspension to the new owner.
Replacing the key battery

Each main key is equipped with two disk power elements located in cover B of the transmitter housing.
We recommend replacing the batteries at an Audi facility. If you decide to replace the batteries yourself, you will need to:
- Remove the key.
- Using a gentle twist of a screwdriver, separate key component A from transmitter housing B.
- Remove the transmitter housing cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the figure.
- Remove used batteries from the housing cover.
- Install new batteries. Install the batteries so that the "+" marking is at the bottom. The correct polarity is also indicated on the transmitter housing cover.
- Insert the cover with installed batteries into the transmitter housing and squeeze both parts together.
- Insert the transmitter housing into the key component and connect both parts until they stop.
Note: Synchronize the remote control if you cannot open or close the car with it after replacing the batteries.
Electronic anti-theft lock
Electronic anti-theft lock prevents unauthorized use of the vehicle.
A microcircuit is built into the key handle, with the help of which the anti-theft lock is automatically disabled when the key is inserted into the ignition switch. When the key is removed from the ignition switch, the anti-theft lock automatically enters guard mode.
Note
- The engine of your vehicle can only be started with a properly coded original Audi key.
- Under certain circumstances, the engine may not start if another vehicle's ignition key is on the keychain.
